Dear Colleagues,

This a reminder of our Khulisa Lunch Hour brainstorm tomorrow afternoon. We will be focussing on the look and feel of your journal, and touch on:

Available PKP OJS themes
Designing a journal banner
Utilising the layout to accommodate more features
Use of images from the web (image libraries)
Accessibility of your website for all
And more

Please let me know should you want anything else addressed as part of our session, not mentioned above.

Looking forward seeing all tomorrow! Completely optional!

Kind regards,
Ina

Dear Khulisa Journal Editors and Managers,

Thank you for joining me for this session today!

Please find the presentation with some pointers attached. Let me know anytime should you want to experiment, so I can create a demo journal for you.
Also to confirm: Yes, PKP OJS adheres to WCAG requirements at the platform level, but full compliance depends on how journals implement themes and publish content.
Remaining for this year then, are lunch hour sessions on the following (I might change the order, but will send out calendar invites again - no registration required):

Sept: Review using AI
Sept: Journal website look/feel/design
  1. Communication (incl using Mailchimp for newsletters, POPIA)
  2. Statistics (various platforms, merging statistics, visualisation, conversion, etc)
  3. Reporting to editorial board (incl. template)
  4. Marketing (marketing plan, tools, social media etc) - more graphic design
  5. Training, supporting your users (tools etc) - a bit of instructional design ;)

With kind regards,
Ina
