Transportation orientation for pre-K and kindergarten students will cover safety lessons, riding the bus, getting on and off the bus, buckling seat belts, crossing the road, and how to sit properly in the bus seat.

Thank you to the Berlin Community Food Closet volunteers and coordinator Mrs. Dianne Mosher for providing a Summer Lunch Program for students and families in need residing in the Berlin Central School District. On June 5th, the Berlin Middle High School Art Department held their annual Arts Alive! celebration, which included the summative Art Exhibit for Art students grades 6-12, the National Art Honor Society Induction Ceremony, musical performances, Empty Bowls Fundraiser and the 2nd Annual Poetry Caf. The Berlin InvenTeam presented their solution for a Cave Monitoring System at Demo Day X, hosted by Project Invent in New York City. They designed the system to monitor the health and population of bats in caves and specifically to detect the presence of white nose syndrome. Read on here.

Earlier this month, accomplished Berlin Elementary principal Tracy Kent announced her intent to retire. With a ringing endorsement from the faculty and staff at BES, the district is excited to share that at their regular board meeting scheduled for June 18th, the Board of Education will appoint Jodi Cataldo as the next principal of Berlin Elementary School effective July 1, 2024. This year the BES Ambassadors took on a community-building project. The goal was to share stories and build relationships that span the generations. The hope is that the project continues to grow, creating long lasting bonds between the generations. Read more about it here.
