How many sites will KHB allott?

KHB will be following norms for layout development - this means that
50% of the acquired area will be used for parks, roads etc. So maximum
of 50% of the acquired area can be used for residential/commercial
purpose.
So effectively 40% of acquired area for residential purpose.

There are 10,000 applicants -> so at an average of 1500 sq ft per
person, the need will be acquisition of 1146 acres minimum with above
calculation.

Also there will be some sites set aside as per govt reservation rules
- so unless 1500 acres were acquired, this does not seem plausible.
Likely that around 780 acres were acquired making ratio 1 in 3 for
lottery for general category

These are the KHB rules for allotment:
KHB has the following Percentages of Reservation for allotment of its
properties.


18% of its properties are reserved for Scheduled Castes and
Scheduled Tribes,
15% for State Government,
5% for Central Government,
5% for Defense,
5% for Senior Citizens (in all Categories)
3% for the Physically Handicapped
and 49 % for others


So for general, 10000 sites = 1200 acres minimum
If 780 were acquired, 5000 sites possible
2500 for general
Chances in general become 1 in 6
