Hello everybody,

I am an American Ruby on Rails developer, currently living in Santa Barbara, California and I am considering moving to Kharkov. I have spent a lot of time in Russia, mostly in St. Petersburg and Saratov, but I have friends that also live in Kharkov. 

It is good to see that there is at least a small Ruby community in Kharkov. I see that this meetup has already occurred, but do you have more? Is your Ruby community active? Is there a demand for Ruby on Rails developers there? Will it be difficult to find Ruby on Rails work locally in Kharkov?

Anyway, will this google group be used for any communication for other Ruby events in Kharkov? It would be nice to meet some other programmers if I do come to Kharkov.

Past meetup was quite successful and gathered nice community dedicated to Ruby. We're going to continue these meetups and I think we'll have more info about next event soon.

Regarding to job offers for RoR developers. Well, we have several companies here in Kharkov, developing RoR applications. But, AFAIK, they are mostly doing outsource/out-staffing things to foreign customers. If it's ok with you and you have solid knowledge in the ruby on rails field, be sure, you will be hired pretty fast :)
