Hi all, I made an account for Keynote at the community feedback
platform GetSatisfsaction.com: http://getsatisfaction.com/daniel_pradov
.

It has a lot of advantages such individual RSS feeds, statuses of
feature requests (e.g. planned. implemented, considered, refused,
etc), image attachments, etc.

I hope it helps for a fruitful and intense dialogue on the development
of this marvellous product.

Hello Uzzer,
I appreciate your intention but I don't like too much that platform,
and I would prefer it to be named differently.

Really I understand you in some sense, because this platform in Google
Groups is clearly improvable. I began to use it when I migrate from
SourceForge to Google Code, because I didn't like the tools included
in that platform, forum included. They were in general very powerful
but terribly slow for me, specially the management of file releases. I
searched a tool to use as a forum and selected Google Groups, but
actually I'm not satisfied with it.
Indeed I find very unconfortable the time limit for reply. I have
recently discovered that we can't reply to messages older than 60
days. Nor it is possible to create groups of topics, for example.

I have taken a look to the actual SourceForge and I have seen that it
has been improved a lot. Apart from the tools inherent to the platform
(enhanced) it is possible to use a lot of third party tools like
phpBB. I think that phpBB it is clearly superior to GetSatisfaction
and it is free (open source), and can be included and conected to my
project in SourceForge.

You can take a look to phpBB:
http://www.phpbb.com/support/documentation/

So, I prefer you not to use your recently created forum but wait a
little to the new forum I am going to create under SourceForge, with
phpBB.
Of course we can use many forums, but I think that it is not
practical.

Thanks
Regards

I have created a new forum in SourceForge.net:
https://sourceforge.net/apps/phpbb/keynote-newfeat/index.php

So, I will try to move most topics from Google Code to the new forum
and then I will close / lock it.

Please, take also a look to:
https://sourceforge.net/apps/phpbb/keynote-newfeat/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=5

Thanks
Regards

Hello

I couldn't find a way to monitor posts globally in your new forum, a feature which was possible in Google Code. I globally monitor another forum in SourceForge, but by looking at the addresses, it seems yours is powered by phpbb, while I couldn't find any mention of the engine behind the other SF forum. Does phpbb allow simple users to monitor the forum globally and if so, could you enable it?

Hi Frederic,
You can monitor the forums you are interested in. At the bottom of
each forum's page you can see something like:

^ Board index # Subscribe forum
* The team • Delete all board cookies • All times are UTC + 1 hour
Powered by phpBB © 2000, 2002, 2005, 2007
phpBB Group

Just clicking in "Subscribe forum" let you monitor that forum. Then it
will show "Unsubcribe forum", instead.

Regards
Daniel

Hmm, I just checked, at the bottom, I see "Board index" then on the right "The team". Furthermore, I did a search for "subs" in the page and Firefox told me that string was not there. I suggest you create a dummy user and use that user to subscribe to the forum to test :-)

In the boad index (https://sourceforge.net/apps/phpbb/keynote-newfeat/
index.php) certainly there is no way to subscribe, but you can
subscribe to every forum or subforum, like 'Open Development' or
'Bugs'.

For example, if you want to receive notifications from new topics or
replies to the subforum Features (https://sourceforge.net/apps/phpbb/
keynote-newfeat/viewforum.php?f=16), you can do it the way I indicated
to you.

Please, try it and confirm me that you can.

Hello and sorry for a much too late reply!

Why is that you do not like the platform of GetSatisfaction?

It is the best one that O I personally have seen and this is why I chose it. If it is that you do not like your name being put there, that is changeable, on registration I simply had to add the name of the company behind the product and the most logical name to add was yours, as the chief developer :)

I took a look at the forum you have created at sourceforge and I by having used both platforms - phpbb forums and GetSatisfaction, I can assure you the latter one is superior in every single respect.

But if it is your wish sourceforge to be used, I will use that.
