Node default names

Hello

I don't understand why, but the "Default Name for new tree nodes" does
not do anything, I still get "New node" when I create a new node. I
wanted to use "%D %T", but I tried "%I %A", "%N" and "%D" too. Tried
in 1.7.8.1, 1.7.8.2 and 1.7.9.1b1, under XP as well as Vista. What am
I missing ?

You have to set that value in Note -> Note properties.. (or right
click in note header and then Properties..)
Are you setting that value in Tools -> Default settings.. ?

Note also that this option will not modify the name of the existing
nodes, but also the new ones.

If you still cannot get it, please send me your keynote.ini file, in
case you have a problematic configurations options combination
