SoI have just got my sims back and I've switched from origin to the EA app and I'm in the process of downloading sims but i'm not sure where my mods file is i've searched high and low for it and its nowhere to be seen unfortunately could someone help

@_Manou1996_ The Sims 4 user folder, the one that contains the Mods folder, is always in Documents > Electronic Arts no matter where you've installed the game's program files. If, however, you've used a symbolic link to move the user folder to the external drive, then that's where you need to look. This would have been a separate process, so if you don't think you went through that, you probably didn't.

With the new "EA App" launcher, the file structure has completely changed. "The Sims 4" file is now in the "EA Games" file and no longer contains the "Mods" or "Saves" file. I am looking for where is the new location of the "Mods" file?

MOD (modification) is a modification or enhancement program of the game which has the ability to modify some game settings. In Sims 4, its existence can change the behavioral characteristics of sims, or introduce new functions, so as to improve the game's playability greatly.

Compared with mod, CC (Custom Content) is much simpler. In Sims 4, CC usually represents the clothes, hairstyles, facial features, furniture, and other items that the creator wants to add to the game, enabling players to have more rich decoration choices.

In the eight years since the game was released, developers keep promoting new DLC and expanding game settings to increase the freshness of old players. At the same time, the number of platforms applicable to Sims 4 continues to increase, and the EA game officially opens for free download on October 18, 2022. These moves have brought more fresh blood to Sims 4.

To help new players enjoy the game better, this article aims to provide detailed guides for new Sims 4 players on how to install mods in Sims 4, which can greatly increase the fun of the game. Keep reading, and you will find the best solution to back up your Sims 4 files too.

Sims 4 has strong playability and supports players to create their own Sims. Players can decide the Sims' name, appearance, dress, and career planning, buy houses for them and manipulate them to conduct rich social activities.

In this basic background, the game introduces a custom game engine and supports players to create and add CC(Custom Content) and Mods in Sims 4. CC and Mods can maximize your choices, bring new clothes, hairstyles, behavior styles, and so on to your Sims, and make the world you build more personalized and diversified.

Many talented Sims 4 players will create mods and post them on some websites, so you can go to some Sim 4 Mods websites to freely select and download the best Sims 4 mods or CC and follow the steps below to install them into Sims 4.

After going to these sites and downloading your favorite mods, you usually get a compressed file. Note that you only need the .package and .ts4script files because these are the right mods files you should install to Sims 4.

Although Sims 4 is currently applicable to PC, macOS, Xbox, and PlayStation, players cannot add the mods or custom content of Sims 4 on any game console. Therefore, the following methods are only suitable for PC and Mac users to install CC and Mods of Sims 4 on Steam or Origin.

If you have already added mods and CC in Sims 4 and successfully enabled them in the game, don't take it lightly now. Every time Sims 4 is updated or a patch is added, your mods will easily lead to game code errors.

This will not only affect the normal operation of the Sims 4 but also damage your saves data. So you must create a scheduled backup plan for your mods and save files to maintain your mods files' stability and ensuring your game data security.

EaseUS Todo Backup Home is professional software that can meet all backup needs of game players with its excellent proformance. It can back up PC game saves and support you in setting up a dedicated backup plan. It also supports incremental backup and differential backup modes, which can automatically back up new content immediately when you add more files to the Mods folder. What's more, EaseUS Todo Backup Home also provides users with 250 GB of free Cloud storage. You can save the Backup files in it to free disk space.

Adding mods and CC to the game is a very important part of enjoying Sims 4. This article details how to install mods in Sims 4. However, please keep in mind that file backups must be done regularly to avoid damage to the game data. And EaseUS Todo Backup Home will help you in need.

You should copy the mod files you unzipped from a ZIP folder that was downloaded before, open File Explorer, choose Document>Electronic Arts > The Sims 4 > Mods, and then put your mods into the folder.

2. To install the base game files, in your game files and lighting mod files, navigate to data\shared\worlds\areas. Copy the files from the lighting mods folder, paste them into the game files folder, and replace the files when prompted.

Yes and no. You can mix lighting mods (twinkle toes in rural windenburg and milk thistle in the bluffs) but you can't apply two lighting mods to the same world file since you can only have one of each file in your game at a time.

I'll be honest I have read over the instructions over and over and I still am not figuring it out as I have gotten sims through Electronic Arts and no matter how much I look at the data folder I'm not finding where the worlds are located. I am more of a visual learner so it's difficult by reading it. So, if anyone can explain it to me step by step (as if I am a child) that would be awesome! please and thank you.

hii. this is my first time downloading a lighting mod as i do play with mac, but i have followed all instructions to put this into my game and my cas still shows up with stars, and ive repaired my game and tried to reinstall the mod but it still comes up the same, so idk what to do! fyi, i do us anadius packs so idk if that would be compatible with this mod! thank you

The starry CAS issue is only caused by not following the instructions and copy/pasting whole folders instead of individual .world files. I don't include unedited .world files in my uploads because some of them cause issues for mac users, so when you don't replace individual files, you get rid of the CAS "world" which causes it to appear starry or blank. If you repair your game and try again, it should be fine and having a pirated game shouldn't make a difference.

Hello, thank you for this mod. I am just want to make sure I install correctly. The files for Delta, go into the ep and stuff pack folders that are IN the Delta folder? I got confused because those same EP and stuff Pack folders are also outside of the Delta folder as well. Picture attached is how my game is showing without attempting to add your files yet. Thank you so much!

Hi! This is my first time installing lighting mods, what do I do if I just want the lighting mod in Willow Creek where my save is? Also what is the game file for the sims? I don't know where to put the files.

Hi SofterHaze! I really like your work, when I stumbled upon this I was very excited! I replaced the .world file folders as instructed but when I started to run TS4 again, I kept getting white screen error, do you know why that is, is it something conflicting on my end, or maybe something I've done wrong? I look forward to your reply! Thanks in advanced (:

Hey, you probably just installed the mod incorrectly :') try repairing your game and then give it another shot while paying closer attention to the instructions. make sure you're not removing and game files! .world files should be the only things getting replaced

Yes, it was actually the .world files I was replacing, I didn't touch anything else. I navigated to /areas etc and replaced when prompted. I later discovered it was something broken in my mods conflicting with it so, no worries! Thank you for the help (:

Hi, this is my first time installing a lighting mod. I think I did it correctly. However, my UI is messed up on the start screen. Like all the options are stacked on top of each other and a message about the free trial is up there. I'm not sire if you know what could cause that, or if I should just repair my game and try again.

Hi, I wanted to get this mod with the latte by ellcrze gshade but I am having some issues. First when I go to copy the data files from your mod to the data/world/areas the ones from the base game have a DiP_Staged after them, so when I copy the files, they don't replace the originals.

(Separate problem with the g-shade) I am asking this here to see if any other simmers know how to help. I wanted to use the latte gshade, but the website for gshade got taken down, how else can I use the latte gshade?

hey! i've mentioned this in a recent reply but the DiP_Staged files are from your game updating, so you're either actively updating the game or you didn't allow an update to complete. technically, you could remove the stage files and install the mod as usual, but i don't know what state that would leave your game in, so i don't really recommend it.

Hi there! TYSM for this masterpiece of a mod (especially appreciate you as a mac player that cannot use reshade/gshade). I'm having an issue unfortunately ever since the growing together pack update was released for this mod and I know you must be so so busy, but if you happen to see this and can help it would be appreciated.
