Iused the Prolific PL2303 v 3.8.25.0 driver on my Windows 11 version 22H2 in the past with succes, but now with the update to Windows 11 version 23H2, I can not make the connection anymore with my NBLA.

Any similar problems with the latest windows version?

Any suggestions?

Meanwhile I uninstalled the NBLA software and the PL2303 driver, did a cleanup with CCleaner to remove all remaining traces, restarted and reinstalled the NBLA software and

it's now working again.

I tried to find that on the internet but nothing usefull unless you block ALL driver updates; but in that case your computer is not getting the updates for other programs as well what is ofcourse not OK and not the intention.

Since last week, I still need to reinstall often the NBLA software or the PL2303 driver to have working communication with the NBLA, as more and more computers will run windows 11 in the short future,

will NIP Embedded place other PL2303 chips in the new NBLA devices to overcome this problem of automatic driver updates by windows and compatibility with it?

_id=225&pcid=41

If so, could a current NBLA device be upgraded with a new PL2303 chip of the versions PL2303 HXD, SA, RA GC, GS, GT, GL, GE , GD, GR which are windows 11 compatible?

Or is another type of communication between the NBLA and the battery controller a better option?

Besides from the PL2303TA replacement, are there other improvements which could be carried out by NIP embedded which could be beneficial, if I would

send my NBLA back to you (Firmware version is = 1.14)?

In the FAQ I found :"The NLBA1 Professional Laptop Battery Analyzer has 12 months warranty."

As Romania is a EU member shouldn't this be 2 years as all warranties in EU must be 2 years from a legal standpoint?

@azzido no problem, windows 11 always updates drivers if newer cones out if the software don't see the programer it's easy just removed the recent update driver by windows 11 and all will work perfect. The drivers I provide are from the pl2303 maker so the latest for Windows 11 and 10. Regards

For reference, I attache the 2 drivers that work for me to this message. Only one is needed, just that they have different install methods (one is .exe and the other is right click on the INF), if you run the .exe version and you already have another version of the driver it will ask you if you want to uninstall (which I usually do) and then run again the .exe to install the driver.

It worked properly for some time. It just worked properly at that time. But after some time, each time I try to use the putty or teraterm app to console in to the router using the com port, the putty or teraterm app now says "cannot write to the serial device" and some other error messages that it used to display. So, I uninstalled the prolific usb-to-serial driver 4.0.8 and install it back. Each time that I now check the com port number at the device manager, it now permanently says PL2303TA DO NOT SUPPORT WINDOWS 11 OR LATER, PLEASE CONTACT YOUR SUPPLIER. Please kindly help on how to resolve this windows 11 usb-to-serial driver problems.

I have several serial adapter CH340 or CP210x with a small problem which is that with these the server boxes are blocked at startup if the adapter is connected

By cons I have a very old PL2303 adapter that works but the latest driver is no longer compatible with Windows

what could you advise me?

Problem is by exemple a CP210x ( cneutec.com CNT-0038 ).

When i plug the 3 wires to my wr1200js cannot start

When i plug the power supply. not serial port connected i connect only after the serial port.

CP2014 or CP2012N

pololu.com Pololu - CP2104 USB-to-Serial Adapter CarrierThis USB-to-serial adapter lets you easily connect a TTL serial device to a PC by acting as a virtual serial port. The board is a Micro-USB carrier for the Silicon Labs CP2104 USB-to-UART bridge that provides access to all of its control signal pins...

The majority of FTDI FT232R(L) chips will be fakes so you'll be safer to go for another model if you want FTDI. The same goes for Prolific PL2303HX/HXA, go for PL2303TA instead (not sure if there are any known fakes of TA however).

they work great on linux and fine on windows once setup ( read before you try on windows! )... just be aware many schematics aren't perfect when it comes to 3.3v being 3.3v so if you have a particularly valuable or sensitive board... i'd advise a some leveling on the tx or vin > LM11173.3v > vcc.

Without problem as i described it to know that with several different adapters when the branch plugs the adapter and that puts the power supply then the starting of the box is blocked. For this to work I do not have to connect the USB adapter before starting the box except with a very old PL2303 adapter which does not pose this problem.

However windows does not present me with any "device ready to use" type messages and I cannot seem to find anyway to actually access the device and query / update it (the device is also not appearing in windows explorer - I don't know if it should, but it isn't).

I get nothing from windows at all, nada, zero, zip (yes I do turn the star adventurer on when I plug it into the computer, I've flipped it on an off a few times in fact - all to no avail, and yes I did restart the computer after installing the driver).

The cable is also fine, its a new one and when I use it to plug it into an old Tom Tom sat nav I have (who uses USB "b" anymore?!) it detects it fine, is able to talk to it and update the firmware on the Tom Tom ok. So no cable issues.

I have also downloaded the latest motor controller for the star adventurer (V03_06) from the Sky watcher website - but this is just a .mcf file which I'm guessing I will need to load via an interface with the device - which I'm not being presented with.

Hello and welcome to SGL. The mount isn't a usb device so it won't be recognised by windows as such, therefore, you won't get the typical windows messages. The mount has two ports, the first is the small usb port for external power or firmware updates and the second is a RJ-12 6 pin port, also known as a ST4 port, for autoguiding during long exposure photography. Neither port can be used to control the mount through planetarium software such as Stellarium or Cartes du Ciel. For autoguiding the ST4 port is connected to a computer via a guide camera or suitable interface (the port cannot be connected direct to a computer). The camera sends a video stream to the guiding software which monitors any drifting from the target star and then sends corrective commands back to the mount to keep the imaging camera on target.

"This application is used to update the motor controller's firmware of a Skywatcher GO-TO mount, with a SynScan hand control programmed with the SynScan Relay firmware, a SynScan USB dongle or a SynScan hand controller working in PC-Direct mode."
