RequiredAction and clean return to login flow

Hi,

I am almost done with a custom required action. 

On this required action, I have to redirect the user to another idp. I have a custom resource that I use as a callback, and then this callback redirects the user back to the required action when that step up on the external idp is performed. 

But this doesn’t work so well when the required action is trigged during the login flow. I can’t seem to be able to restart the required action without a new login. The user is sent back to the login with a timeout error. 

Is there a way to 

A) detect that the required action was triggered during the login flow(as opposite to when performing it from the account menu)?

B) is it possible to trigger a restart of the required action without having to reauthenticate?

Hello Atul,

Thank you for reaching out. This mailing list is about developing Keycloak itself, not about developing applications that interface with Keycloak. When writing extensions to Keycloak, this might be the place to ask for more SPIs, but for everything else please use the keycloak user mailing list. I see you already cross-posted a similar question to the user mailing list. 

I'll try to provide an answer on the user mailing list.
