Hi,

I am currently looking into https://issues.redhat.com/browse/KEYCLOAK-13701 - after some investigation, I found out that there's a problem existing in old versions of the maven surefire plugin (see e.g. https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/SUREFIRE-1788https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/SUREFIRE-1614 ).

The solution seems pretty straight-forward: upgrade the plugin to a version >=3.0.0-M5 or newer.

As the suggested upgrade is just a milestone release and the version upgrade should imo be done in the parent pom, I wanted to reach out to keycloak-dev first, to discuss this and ask for experiences when upgrading to version 3.0.0-M5 of the surefire plugin. So, if you have any input, please share. Thank you!

Best regards,
Dominik

I don't think we set the version for all (if any) plugins we use. I think we should be more explicit about the version of certain plugins (e.g.: surefire, compiler) rather than rely on defaults.
