Enabling Sentry

Hi All,

I am trying to add the integration with Sentry in my custom extension so I can send the errors to Sentry. I followed the steps mentioned here: https://quarkiverse.github.io/quarkiverse-docs/quarkus-logging-sentry/dev/index.html

I added new file /opt/keycloak/conf/quarkus.properties and copied below properties in there.

quarkus.log.sentry=true
quarkus.log.sentry.dsn= <SENTRY_DSN>

quarkus.log.sentry.in-app-packages=*

But after starting the container, I am getting below warnings.

keycloak_1  | 2022-04-22 23:40:24,857 WARN  [io.quarkus.config] (main) Unrecognized configuration key "quarkus.log.sentry" was provided; it will be ignored; verify that the dependency extension for this configuration is set or that you did not make a typo

keycloak_1  | 2022-04-22 23:40:24,858 WARN  [io.quarkus.config] (main) Unrecognized configuration key "quarkus.log.sentry.dsn" was provided; it will be ignored; verify that the dependency extension for this configuration is set or that you did not make a typo

I am using keycloak 18. Am I doing something wrong here? Any help would be really appreciated.

Just wanted to check if anyone experienced this issue before and got it working with Keycloak 17.

Hi Sagun,

 

Seems like the sentry extension is not available in Keycloak.

Not sure what’s the best way to get this extension into the Keycloak distribution and even if it’s the best way to use sentry.

Probably the developer mailing list is the wrong place for such “usage-related” questions. If you ask at the discourse group (or the user mailing list), your question is more likely to be answered quickly.

Hi Sagun,

what Daniel states is correct, but to help you out you could try this:

Download the following jars, e.g. from mvnrepository:

quarkus-logging-sentry-1.1.0.jar

quarkus-logging-sentry-deployment-1.1.0.jar

sentry-5.6.3.jar (transient dependency of the sentry sdk from quarkiverse jars in order to work correctly)

put them in the providers directory

create your favored quarkus.properties with the sentry config options

run a build (kc.sh build)

start keycloak and see if it works.

disclaimer: Running quarkiverse extensions is highly experimental at the moment, may be subject to change later on and might just not work. We most likely will not have sentry support OOTB, but have some plans around supporting the quarkiverse extension ecosystem in general. Nevertheless would be nice to know if it works for you.
