Groups management usability lost

Hello fellow Keycloakers,

I am evaluating Keycloak 16 upgrade, and I see there is possible unpredicted side effect of group management optimisation (possible after KEYCLOAK-18380)

In my organization we have a structure of many many groups representing apps with roles as subgroups:

In Keycloak 15 user administrator could come to Admin UI and search the app by its name, see subgroups and add some of them to the user:

eg: add  Accountant subgroup of the app Accounting Portal

Now in version 16, Admin UI does not show subgroups anymore, so its impossible to add them to user without knowing the group name upfront and individually searching for them, which defeats the whole purpose of a search.

I do support the ideas in KEYCLOAK-18380, but I think we now need also the way to expand the group to see subgroups on demand.

Shall this become a Issue ticket?

Actually the group search is broken in KC 16. 

Please have a look at the screenshot here when I try to search and add Accountant group to the user, and it shows just a parent group. 

Its not possible to add the Accountant group to the user through search.
