A 100wpm with no errors on full key set gets me 27,000.   The high score list shows some users with 85wpm getting over 100,000 points.

Is there something in the settings I'm missing that would allow such a high score with a low wpm?  I've tried playing around with capitalisation and punctuation but that doesn't seem to have much effect.

They don't.  The High Score section might literally be the worst and most misleading feature about Keybr.com entirely.  I've never witnessed such an abysmal calculating system, furthermore the registry for picking up on every submitted test is also broken, I've got numerous videos to show so.  I actually don't know why any of you utilize it as a reference point, or remain in Keyr's 'Practice' section.  But considering I've seen most of you guys in Multiplayer, I can understand why the greater margin of you are taking refuge in a mode where your typing isn't viewed in real-time by others.  These tendencies produce linear results, and mediocre typists.  I'd recommend Typeracer.com to you guys, but God forbid you lose one race and you quit instantaneously like most of you do in the Multiplayer here.  The High Scores here are irrelevant, pointless, simple.  If someone is handed the same aspect and ratio of characters to type as the next guy, but one of them does 80 WPM and the other does 140 WPM -- there is no situation in this universe where that 80 WPM typer should be uplifted over the distinctively superior typist that's almost doubled their performance rate.

Get.  Out.  Of.  Practice.  Section.  It's. USELESS.

I don't understand where this hate is coming from but I also don't feel like debating your points.  My typing speed has objectively improved in the last few months using Keybr and and I prefer it over the others.  I'm really just curious about how the scores are calculated.

Nearest I can tell it's something like:

100 + (characters * cpm * 2) / errors

but that doesn't work as increasing the length of the challenge has little effect on the score.

those high scores are all automated. And if you really want to know how the scores are calculated then I think you should have a look at the json file available at the profile page section. Cheers !

yeah, re: solemn I respectfully disagree, as it did improve my typing speed by quite a lot. Might not get one too far, but it surely gets it going
