Over the last year, Keybr has helped me go from around 40-50 wpm using 2-3 fingers while looking at the keyboard to 90-100 wpm while touch typing. However, whenever I try and type numbers and symbols, I always revert to my old habits.

Could Keybr please add lessons to focus on typing numbers and symbols, and perhaps also for capital letters? It would be great for students learning programming who are trying to touch type, such as myself.

For this exactly purpose I am forced to use other websites.

Did you see that in the settings you can enable some punctuation and capitals? That doesn't add them to the lessons unfortunately, but it's helping me to have the option to include them.

This will totally hose your averages though, so go into it knowing that and embrace it or select a different profile "why yes, let's pretend that I'm learning dvorak!" so that you can switch between practices and not get discouraged by your wpm constantly being lower.

Yea, I have enabled those settings. I wished that there was focused training for numbers, symbols and capitalized letters as there are with underscored characters. I find that the method used with lowercase characters (working on the same character until proficient) is very effective, would be great to have that feature with numbers, symbols and capitalized letters too.

I always thought the absence of numbers and symbols and caps in the practice was a shortcoming.

+1, but I want us to have a way to tweak how frequent a symbol or punctuation mark appears in the guided lessons. Sometimes I wish that full stops are a little bit less frequent than they appear.

I've been practicing for just a couple of hours, but when I checked the "symbols" option, I saw it enabled ALL SYMBOLS after EVERY WORD! That's crazy! I am certain I will just learn my ABCs then lift my hands and hunt for those when the time comes.

Please update the algorithm so that it gradually adds numbers, symbols and uppercase letters (or perhaps introduces the right and left shift keys individually?) at the same pace it would add letters; one at a time. Please!

Capital letters and punctuation are engaged in the settings menu.  I was using typingclub.com which has a fairly thorough section on numbers and symbols.

I also have an idea for the algorithm to give you rewards and progress your different typing skills such as using the backspace bar and make it option to have on. It can be incorporated into the algorithm or as an option make it like a level to unlock once you get to all of the keys on the board or make it an option for you to be scored like that as well. I think that would be pretty useful and intuitive for that to be apart of the keyboard learning process because when you are typing things out on the computer there can be difficulty encountered when making the transition and not having a need to backspace the key you missed input.

The "enable punctuations and capital letters" in settings is good enough but the current implementation here is overkill because capitals and punctuations appear everywhere. The Monkeytype way of handling it is more natural and should be copied here.
