to Keyboard
Hello- Somehow I have, presently occupying an inconvenient proportion
of my living space with its considerable mass, an old Yamaha GS2.
Judging by dicussions I have had with people in the keyboard
departments at a couple of different outlets, its no surprise if that
is an unfamilar model these days.
For myself, I have no practical expereince in this field, therefore a
question for those who may know what I'm talking about. I am reticent
simply to throw it out- it does emit sounds when plugged in and
subjected to pawings upon the keyboard- but these sounds are somewhat
uncontrollable. This, I gather, may be because the pedal unit is
missing, and I suspect that, though it seems ani-intuitive, not having
a pedal unit plugged in leaves it in a state similar to having an
infinite sustain pedal permanently on.
It originally would have had three pedal unit, but of course these
are no longer being made, as of a long, long time ago. Would a pedal
unit from some current model work, at least electronically even if not
designed for the best physical fit ? I have seen some in some
catalogs, but they cost a bit more than I would want to chance on an
experiment.
