New Midi user. Help.

I purchased a radio shack LK-1261 MIDI keyboard for my 10 yr old, as
well as, Finale Printshop, so she could write her music on the
computer. I purchased a low-end midi box, MIDISPORT UNO, by M-Audio
(1X1)....I've reinstalled and updated the driver until I am blue in the
face and though XP states that the driver is working
perfectly....there seems to be no communication when we enter notes
into Printshop. The output/imput lights are not activated. Any
advice?
