We are investigating the possibility of using Chromebooks, but are I am running into an issue with them.  We use Moodle a lot and many of our teachers have uploaded many word documents into Moodle.  The problem is that I have been unable to find a way to just open a word document in Moodle using the chromebook.  Converting a word document, or other things,  into a google doc is pretty easy when you can upload into google docs/drive, but just opening one in Moodle, or as an email attachment in outlook, has been problematic for me in a chromebook.  Any ideas?

In the short term, you could open the documents in Skydrive, Microsoft's version of Drive, but if you're using Google Apps in your district, you teachers might as well convert to Google Docs. It'll save time and headaches in the future. The beauty of Google docs is that you won't have these compatibility issues on any device - Chromebook, iPad, Macs, or otherwise. The teachers also won't have to re-upload documents every time they make a change.
