I'd like to take a straw poll (or ideally have an actual vote) on the issue of Proposal 1 versus Proposal 1b
--noting that a survey of the dictionary done by Peter Hill reveals that all the work for
Proposal 1 was apparently done in 1994, which strongly suggests
that my Proposal 1 was the actual intent.
Proposal 1 is to preserve the 1994 ruling which vacated the slinkui test
and required that CVC djifoa initial in a complex which form an initial pair
with the following djifoa be y-hyphenated but qualify it by saying that
it does not apply to CVCCVV or CVCCCV forms, and that CCVV
borrowings remain forbidden.
Proposal 1b is to reverse the 1994 ruling and restore the slinkui test.
1. You can cast a vote for either proposal. Emerson has voted for Proposal 1
already. I suppose you could also officially abstain.
2. You can indicate that you are inclined toward one or the other or still completely undecided.
If we ratify Proposal 1, we have no work to do at all (the dictionary is in compliance). The state of the dictionary strongly suggests that Proposal 1 was the actual intent of the 1994 ruling. If we ratify Proposal 1b, we have some slinkuis to fix
(not introduced since 1991, they are mistakes by our Founder).
The PEG parser is currently Proposal 1 compliant, but it would not be difficult to make it Proposal 1b compliant.

I cast an official vote for Proposal 1.
