I am commenting here as well. It shows that Orion is using a lot of battery power just watching a basic Twitch.TV live stream. My safari also seems to be same in terms of battery and speed. All the features mentioned above would help dramatically (MS Edge and macOS Battery features). I am not sure what else to suggest better than what they have already mentioned.

I have an Acer e5-576g laptop. I used this laptop as a PC and it is always connected to AC power. Up until recently my battery even though it was weak worked and because I was always charging it was always 100%. Recently my battery completely died and the laptop no longer works without ac power.

Now the problem I am facing is even though I have disable the power saving modes on Windows 11 I believe there is an in built power saving mode in the laptop which is causing it to run on low power mode. I think how this works is if the battery is lower than 5% it goes into this mode and since my battery is dead it probably is assuming it as 0% and refuses to go out of this mode. The battery is not removable although I have disabled and uninstalled the battery drivers from the device manager.

my S20 automatically switches from optimised mode to medium battery saver. this is annoying as it disables an important background app. it seems to happen at about 70% charge so absolutely unnecessary.

i contacted samsung support but they were not very helpful. the only idea they had to try was resetting all app permissions in case i had somehow allowed an app to control this but that did not stop it (it did however lose all my wifi and bluetooth pairings which was unexpected and annoying). actually it seemed he was sure i was somehow accidentally enabling power saving every day!

I recently pruchased a certified, preowned 2013 C-MAX hybrid SEL and have a problem. I'm the kind of guy who loves tech stuff, pushing buttons, and getting setting just right. So, the other day (day 3 of ownership), I'm sitting in my car (it's off), in our parking garage, and getting everything setup just right, when all of a sudden I get a message to the effect of battery power saver mode off. The MFT screen gets a progress car on it, and within a minute or 2, the screen turns off. My only option is to turn the car on if I want to contoniue using the screen.
I did some research online, but everything I found kept directing me to people who have a a traditional (non-hybrid) cars, or an electric car. ...so I'm a little lost. -I read a lot of comments about disconnecting the battery and resetting it. ...sounds a bit dangerous for my liking.

Personally I would leave the car in ready mode (with everything turned off except radio) at the drive in and try to arrive with a full hybrid battery. Depending on the hybrid battery SOC (state of charge) you may be able to make it through the entire movie without the ICE starting up. But if it does, it will only run a couple of minutes to recharge the hybrid battery which keeps the very small 12v battery charged also. The ICE is very quiet during this mode so I doubt anyone would notice (especially if it's a loud movie, LOL). If you stay in accessory mode using the 12v battery to power the radio, I think it will run it down.

Sometimes I go hiking for a few days with my tent and use Locus Map for orientation. The problem is that I always have to worry about the battery. Therefore, I would like to enable the "maximum power saving mode" of my Samsung Galaxy S8. Unfortunately, this isn't possible because Locus Map isn't available in that mode (although other apps like Google Maps are).

Would it be possible for you to get in touch with Samsung and figure out how Locus Map can be used in the maximum power saving mode? I don't see a reason why Google Maps should be the only available maps app in this mode.

I'm sorry, for now it looks there is no option to add own application to be available in this battery saving mode. To be true, if this option should be there, almost every app developer will wants to put own app there. And well ... then battery saving mode won't make sense, right? :).

Thanks for your reply. The battery saving mode is interesting to me because it reduces background work, the energy consumption of the operating and the home screen. As soon as I start using an app, I don't expect any savings. Therefore, I think it's pointless to limit the apps which can be used. Anyway, I personally cannot do anything about it (except for rooting the device). However, I think there is at least a chance that Samsung will add a professional third-party app to the whitelist if the company behind it asks them. Would you mind giving it a try?

25% use per hour? Clearly it will vary between phone models and battery condition, but 25 is very high; almost unusable. I consistently measure 2.5% per hour with cycle track recording, and 3.5% with recording+navigation. Both with display turned off, of course. I wonder why such a big difference?

There are also more powerful panels, like 13W or 20W, aiming for tablets and notebooks, some with 12V output. But these may be less handy for portable usage mode, like being carried attached to the backpack, or to the bike luggage. I guess they are better for charging at static conditions, like in the morning/evening before/after the trip, or during a break. A friend of mine had some last year to charge the tablet on our bike pilgrimage to Santiago de Compostela ( Spain). Folded, it was like 20*25 cm size.

@Andrew: At bad cell signal conditions ( especially if 3G mode is used, but even for 2G ), even a standby phone periodically ( is trying to ) communicates with the cell tower at high power. I remember my old dumb/feature phone Siemens MT50, that got at such conditions its battery drained in some 8-9 hours, being standby.

Telegram's beautiful animations and lightweight effects are optimized to make any phone feel powerful, but can now be disabled to extend battery life and improve performance on older devices.

Watch Face can be set to Low Power, saving additional power by only updating the watch face once per minute. When Battery Saver mode has been enabled, the option to edit watch faces will not be displayed in the menu on the watch.

Power modes allow you to quickly adjust system settings, activity settings, and GPS settings to extend battery life during an activity. You can create several different Power Modes based on your needs, and apply them to activities to help conserve battery.

I have recently purchased the Asus g14 and have been using it for around a month. About a week ago I realized my battery life was not at the advertised and tested length of what it should be at. The reason for this is my dedicated GPU (2060 Max-Q) was not going into power saving mode. Instead It idles at 300mhz and never turns off. I have checked that no programs are using the dGPU. The problem goes away when I reinstall the graphics driver but re-appears with every reboot. When the problem is occurring the power draw on the battery is 11w while after reinstalling the driver the power draw is 7-8w. Does anyone know why Nvidia Optimus is not turning off the dGPU when not in use? And if so, is there a permanent fix to it?

These options are just for user conveyance, The Use of these modes is just for the user explaining the PC in short how bad you want your battery and how bad you don't want your battery. As, The battery majorly depends on the screen brightness nothing more. These modes only control the Brightness of the PC
