I normally install software using Yast Software Manager. Creating a local repo was one of the suggestions made when I first had problems in installing Epson. I have also the Epson scanner driver rpm in it. Downloading the rpm in downloads means each time I upgrade Leap to next version that rpm is gone. I got the local repo on a separate partition where I do most of my work and keep long term items.
Coming to my main requirement, Epson printer driver installation in Windows has facility especially for Photo printing. If it not available under Linux then that is an end to it. If it is available I would like to have it! It is possibly in epson-printer-utility-1.1.1-1lsb3.2.x86_64.rpm which is giving me trouble.
The support for outdated libQT4 got removed in most distributions (also in openSUSE). So this is an Epson problem that their utility is incompatible with modern distributions.
As Epson also provides a src.rpm, maybe you can adapt the spec file and rebuild the package yourself.
I can confirm that today after a very long time I managed to run my old Epson EcoTank L300 printer with the original driver from the manufacturer on openSUSE Leap. Without the contents of the below mentioned repository it would not have been possible.
Interestingly, this driver still works without problems on the latest releases of Fedora Linux without any additional help, unlike openSUSE.
Fedora Linux, which likes to be among the distributions with the latest software, has no problem providing all the necessary old packages and libraries for the old Epson drivers.
I had started this topic for Leap 15.4. Now Leap 15.5 is here but Epson is still not playing ball for Linux or is it only openSUSE distribution. I was initially considering starting a new topic but the issue is actually a continuation. Can Leap 15.5 be added to the tag line at this point?
Coming back to the main topic I saw that galko_ferdinand was able to get the Epson rpm working. I am willing to make another attempt. so in order to get the qt4 would it be OK to add the repo indicated earlier by Sauerland (i.e. repo ending with /15.4/ installing qt4 and removing the repo?
Some improvement by Epson, they have upgraded to qt5!! So no need for qt4 now. But it is of little use.
Yes, Utility (is it for scanner only?) does not work. The photo printing package is also not available. So not any better than the EscR driver and skanlite which comes with Leap.
Recently I upgraded to Leap 15.5 and with the help of the packages in this repository I managed to run my older Epson EcoTank L300 printer and the utility for this printer.
Thank you for your support.
Also are you printing this on the Star TSP100? Because you mentioned previously about an Epson. Can you tell us exactly what printers you have and where you have them connected? E.g. which printer for kitchen, which for POS ?
This is a printer setting and nothing to do with SambaPOS. You need to change these settings either via the printer driver or configuration settings on the printer. Usually printer configuration settings are changed either by a configuration utility or DIP switches on the actual printer - you need to check the user manual for the printer to find out how to change the left margin and top margin.
I got a few clients using Chinese on receipts, we always have to use HTML for this reason but we are moving to Document Printer because it gives better flexibility of output (e.g. supports tables, non-fixed width fonts - ideal for Chinese).
IMPORTANT NOTICE: When the Windows SmartScreen is displayed upon installing the driver, please perform the following procedure:
1. Click [ More info ]
2. Click [ Run anyway ]
* Skip Step 1 If your PC is not connected to the internet.

Unlike some USB device class drivers, Usbprint.sys doesn't "drive" the printer. Instead, Usbprint.sys provides a communication conduit by which higher-level drivers can control the printer. As is true for parallel printers, USB printers require a printer driver to render print jobs, and might also require a language monitor to manage high-level communication with the printer.
During the installation of a USB printer, the system-supplied INF file, Usbprint.inf, obtains Usbprint.sys from the local file Driver.cab. Because Driver.cab was installed with the operating system, the printer installer typically doesn't need the original installation media to install Usbprint.sys.

Using Automatic Roll Paper CutterFor Windows users
For Macintosh users
The following describes how to print on the roll paper using the cutter. The steps from the printer driver settings to cutting are as follows.
Open the file you want to print in the appropriate application. Access the printer software from within the application.Note:For details on accessing the software, refer to the application's user manual. In many applications, you can select Print directly from the File menu, then access the printer software by clicking the Properties button. Select Roll for Paper Source, and select the appropriate page size.
Note: Do not select Sheet as the Paper Source setting in the printer software when roll paper is loaded in the sheet feeder. Doing so causes unnecessary paper to be fed after each print job. If you have already started printing, cancel the print job from the printer software referring to Cancelling Printing. Wait until the printer stops printing and feeding paper. Cut off the paper at the back of the printer, then turn off the printer. The remaining paper is ejected. Select the types of cutting from the Auto Cutter box.
If you have selected Paper-Saving Cut and are unhappy with the gap of the cutting position, select Normal Cut. In this mode, the space between images is extended and the paper is cut twice inside this space. By cutting twice, an 18 mm slip of paper is left. Normal Cut is selectable only when printing with No Margins selected.
Select this mode when you want to print multi-page data as continuous data on the roll paper, rather than as individual pages. When this check box is selected, the Save Roll Paper check box is enabled.
Select this check box to print a line on the roll paper between pages in a multi-page document to indicate where the paper should be cut. This feature is useful when it is unclear where the page breaks should be. This feature is only available when Manual Cut and Cut Sheet Mode are selected, and not available when cutting with the cutter.
Select the paper type. Click OK to close the printer software and print your document. When print job is executed, wait until the printer prints out the last page and stops its operation. When you print two or more pages, each printout is automatically cut except the last page. When you print only one page, the printout remains without being cut. When Manual Cut is selected in the Auto Cut box, the paper is ejected without being cut. Note: When Normal Cut is selected in the Auto Cut box, the printer prints the paper with some margin between the printouts. In order to cut the printouts front and back, gaps of 18 mm are left. Press the roll paper button in order to cut the last page. When Manual Cut is selected in the Auto Cut list box, the paper is cut with white borders at the edge of the print images.
