Yugadhi Utsav

 

We will be celebrating Yugadhi Utsav on April 11, 2021 from 10:00 AM – 11:40 AM.


 

This is one of the six utsav we celebrate in Sangh. 

 

Please come in Shakha Ganavesh. If you don’t have Ganavesh then come in Mangal Vesh (Indian traditional).

 

RSS first Sarasanghachalak Dr Keshava Baliram Hedgewar, Doctor Ji, was born on Yugadi Day on April 1,1889, the auspicious day of Chaitra Pratipada, the new year beginning of Hindu calender year.  Every year we do adhya Sarasanghachalak pranam to honor the founder of RSS during Ugadhi utsav.  Please join the zoom at 9:55 am as the pranam will be done before dwaj hoisting in the shakha.


Ugadi is a festival of happiness and gaiety, moreso because Ugadi also signals the beginning of a new season in nature. We celebrate two Ugadi’s, Sauryamana and Chandraman, based on the position of the Sun and the Moon. Celebrating Ugadi hence also has a celestial reason for it. We are proud of this scientific background of this festival. This is our tradition of reason and science.
