Invites you and your family on the occasion of Vijayadashami (Dussehra) Utsav on Sunday, Oct 8th, 2017 at Meadow View Junior Academy, Chesterfield, NJ, 08515.
As you may know, Vijayadashami is the culmination of the Navaratra (nine nights) and marks the day when Sri Rama vanquished Ravana. The day marks the victory of good over evil. It was on this day that the Pandavas ended their period of disguise and removed their weapons from the Shami tree. The Hindu tradition has laid great stress on victory. This victory is a surety when Dharma is upheld. Keeping the special significance of this day in the Hindu tradition, Dr. Keshav Baliram Hedgewar founded the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh on Vijayadashami day in 1925 at Nagpur. This year, Vijayadashmi falls on September 30th.
On this occasion, all NJ Swayamsevaks, including children, teen and adults will organize Samata, Vyama Yog, Danda, Niyudhha (and more) presentations, as well as Shastra puja.
We are also fortunate to have Venkata Raghava ji, East Coast Sambhag (Pracharak), as the main speaker for the utsav!
