I have been running Kodi on my apple tv4 without any problems up until last week when it suddenly did not work any more. any idea of what i did wrong in first place? do i have to do same changes on Xcode settings ? Any help would be much appreciated since i'm new on this. thank you all in advance.
im having the same issues, but people say its because apple doesnt want people making and using apps wtih their services (xcode,ios app signer) so what happens is when u send in kodi to apple tv, a virus is sent with it to disable it after a certail period of time. Ive head the fix for this would be u must ue an apple developer account and not just a free created apple id, these developer accounts allow u to create apps (kodi) and deliver it to your apple tv with no disabling virus after a cerain time...Aplle develepor accouns are 99$ a year tho

I've read somewhere Plex Team might release their app for new apple TV 4 . i am excited about that. but still Kodi has some nice plugins and add ons which is great to have it in any device. currently Kodi Support iPhone , iPad , iPod , ATV 2 , i heard from one of the Kodi Developer's team that he might work on porting the kodi to new apple tv 4 .if any apple developer is interested to contribute in this cool project is welcome. here is the link of iOS forum of Kodi forum :
I waited for 2 years (hoping to use Kodi on a new AppleTV) before I decided to buy an Android TV Box. This was the best purchase I ever made. My way of thinking changed a lot. I no more do support a greedy Apple (which is not any more the friendly and peacefull organization we used to respect) but now I put my faith and hopes on every Open Source software or product.
that means up until this morning Kodi was unavailable for the ATV without jail breaking. as you note it had been waiting for Apple approval - who's to say when that approval is made. Some developers have had apps waiting for months!

Well after listening to both of you (ProTodd & RealisticExpectations) I have been using KODI A.K.A for a long time and i think apple might let them use it this time maybe or maybe not. In other words i would simply go to best buy and spend my money on Nvidia Shield Tv Which is way better than apple tv but cost a little bit higher but its android base. Plus the graphics on that are way better than apple. I rather buy that than buying apple tv 4th get (plus they still need to add some features. Apple tv is really good product but it have bunch of limitations. But if y'all had watched the Keynote this year the vice president said they will let other developers work on it and create apps for it. I think KODI will be soon in TvOS appstore but you have to wait.
That what i use for KODI now on my theatre room and its a beast better than (FireTV, Asus Google player.) I hope this helps but if you are the guy who love apple and want KODI on his apple you have to wait. It might come on apple tv or might not..
