Hi Rebecca, et al:

I contacted Lone Fir Hot Club, and they would like to be included in bands we chose to perform at our events. I have their contact information. Please tell me who to forward it onto. Along with Matt Dixon’s bluegrass band, that adds 2 bands to our roster.

I think that all social media should adhere to the same guidelines set forth by the KNA board. In my opinion, I don’t think Facebook, Instagram or our newsletter should promote ANY events, activities, businesses or people OUTSIDE of Kerns.

Referring to the Instagram post in question: I USE THAT SAME STICKER IN ALMOST EVERY POST THAT GOES ON OUR STORY. The sticker says, “The KNA supports our friends and neighbors”. THE POST WAS UP FOR 24 HOURS. It was a go fund me repost from one of our neighbors. She has lived and worked in Kerns for 30 years. She is a valued member of our community. She rescued her dog from being attacked by a raccoon. Her dog is fine, but the raccoon bit off the tip of one of her fingers. She now has approximately $10,000 in hospital bills.

I have a degree in social media management and digital marketing. I am an Instagram specialist. I am passionate about social media- I love every aspect of it. I have never posted anything on our Instagram, without it being for the good of the Kerns neighborhood. No one has ever objected to anything I’ve posted, until now. I honestly don’t understand it to be a problem. 1. It was for the good of the community 2. I use that sticker on many posts

For those of you at the meeting, I’m sure you could see that this has deeply upset me, on a personal level. I work around the clock to keep our Instagram relevant and engaging to the people and businesses that are in the Kerns neighborhood. When I was allowed to manage the account, in August of 2024, we had 7 followers. We now have 646. People show up to our meetings because of the Instagram account. Rebecca told me that over the past year, more people are following and engaging with the Facebook page. Considering the timing of this jump in followers, I believe it has grown through my promoting it on the KNA Instagram page.
I trust the opinions, guidance and specific knowledge each board member brings to the table. I would like to think the other board members trust me to make the right choices concerning our Instagram. In my opinion, this type of scrutiny is unwarranted.

If I haven’t shared this with all the board members, Rebecca, please forward it on.

Thank you,
Elizabeth Armstrong

Hi Elizabeth,

I was not at the meeting on Wednesday cause I’m on vacation, but as someone that is fairly well versed in social media, let me just say that I have not seen you do anything other than keep the Kerns social media accessible and professional!

I really appreciate all of the work you’ve put into it.

Daniel
