Thank you KNA and social media initiatives

Hi Everybody,

I want to thank Dave Weaver, and the  Kerns Neighborhood Association's board members. When I joined the board, in August 2024, I was a fledgling social media manager and content creator. With technical support from Dave, I earned a degree in Digital Marketing in February 2025. By managing the social media accounts my confidence soared. The KNA gave me space to work on my graphic design and editing skills. This month (on the 15th and 16th),  I am attending the Canva Create seminar, in Los Angeles! This is a big deal to me. I'm pivoting from my career as a professional pet sitter, into the world of social media marketing management and media production. I couldn't have done it without everyone's support.

I would like to make a video spotlighting the many coffee houses that run along ne 28th ave.This will be a follow up video to the Pizza Tour video. Daniel Lymon and I walked along ne 28th ave, and filmed in front of each of the pizza restaurants. It was a fun experience for us both. I learned how to use the Capcut video editing app to edit the video. I would like to recruit someone to be the host/ presenter in the coffee video. It took Daniel and I less than an hour to film. Please keep me posted if you, or someone in the neighborhood would like to fill this role.For reference, the Pizza Tour video was posted on the KNA Instagram account on December 28, 2024.

So glad you are going to the Canva Create seminar! And that you are able to use the Kerns work in conjunction with your career goals!

And the video idea sounds great!  I would be happy to help with the process - maybe not as the presenter but as an assistant. Although I would be willing to be the presenter if we don't find someone else! (I bet we can though)

Have a great and productive seminar in LA. We'll miss you at the meeting next week. Perhaps you can submit a prepared report we can read at the meeting with any updates you'd like to share. You probably won't be able to zoom in - which is fine - but of course if you find yourself free at that time it would nice to see you in L.A - if only for a brief time!

Hi Dave,

Right now, I don’t have any updates to share with the KNA. I was out of town for the SEUL meeting. I let them know I wouldn’t be able to make the meeting. I have the artifact email summary of the meeting’s events. I’ll go over any relevant items from the April SEUL meeting, and May’s, next month. 

You were the first person I told about the Canva convention. I was so excited! I’m even more excited now! 

I’ll touch base with you when I get back. We need to start planning for the big summer picnic. There’s a lot to be done if we want to make it as successful as it was last year.
