I have never heard anything like that ever happening.

I have in fact, created an user, and switched to it and just have kept it idle for the last 10 mins, without it logging me out.

Another user-switch you do on a daily basis: the simple "su" (which switches to super-user). I have never had an instance where the root logs out automatically after 10 or 15 or as a matter-of-fact, ever.

Can you please su to root and post the results?

I think a better way would be to try and kill the X-window process. That would automatically log you out. But, the sad thing is that you wont be making any entry into the crash-log files, all the processes running in that user will be force killed.

su vasanth
su vallabh
su naib
su iiitb
after this level.. it becomes unpredictable...

close the shell.. and start a new shell!

It is a recursive operation....multiple su's that is :D

If you keep switching users continuously.....you will have to type countless exits to close the terminal :D

So keep a track of it....or else you will be forced to use Force Quit.......not a likeable option for command-prompt users :D
