Friends,
I had a talk with Priyadas at Trivandrum on 11th morning. He has suggested he may give 100 copies each to DCBooks, Mathrubhumi and TBS for sale. ( 300 copies) 100 copies will go to contributors/ advertisers etc. That leaves us with 200 copies of which 33 were sold at Edappaal, 25 are with Gopi and 20 with PPR. ( 78) So we have around 120 copies left for which we have to find dependable people in the district capitals. Gopi has given the hope that 50 more copies could be sold in Thrisssur. We may also have a few subscribers. ( 20 or so)That leaves us with 50 to 100  copies( assuming Thrissur does not buy more than 25)- we have to find proper people at Kollam, Kottayam, Ernakulam, ( Idukki?)Palakkad, Kozhikode, Malappuram, Kannoor and  Kasargod who can sell at least 10 copies each. Please think on these lines.

About making KK a half-yearly Priyadas has reservations about the feasibility esp in terms of administartion, but the idea is alive; we have to prove , through this issue and the next-which can follow very soon, say come out in Jan '13  , that it is workable. In that case I will also need active help and we may constitute an editorial committee, public or private.
I have to read up 80 novels in three months as the Chairman of the DSC Prize jury and may be in a sort of hybernation for some time - meanwhile Anvar , Ani and Gopi may contact young poets and critics and collect poems and articles and additional  reviews. I shall contact the senior writers. Vinayachandran had suggested we may not repeat poets- he has a point- we may be accused of some kind of groupism- so let us use the postponed ones and then hunt for new ones- I have seen some good ones in blogs / F B too. Let us not repeat anyone in that case-may be the seniors can be exempted from the rule as the journal should have some known names too. Even there we can approach poets like Akkitham, MNPaloor, Cheriyan K Cheriyan, Madhavan Ayyappath, Vishnunarayanan etc. Others can perhaps  come back in the issue after that or may be the 2015 issue.
I received  Vettuvzhikkavithakal  -anthology edited by Gopi- when I arrived in Delhi. Well-produced and edited, of course a mix in terms of quality , as Gopi himself has realised and stated. Got the other book (prose, Onchiyam Rekhakal ed CRNeelakantan) too.
Warmly, Satchida

Dear priyadas

what about the commission we have offered to book stalls?

i have sent one  authour copy to Ardra (girija's daughter) who is a contributor in this issue , so pl. account it with me and dont send additional copy to her. Also i have sold some copies to individuals and collected cash. May i put the money in the a/c of ayyappa paniker foundation?

Also, pl. send a voucher copy with bill so as to encash the amount against the ad.

with love
gopikrishnan

Cannot agree more. Anvar/PPR, please send the email Ids of the participants of the discussion at Edappal( I have some, like Zacharia's, but send all) so that I can send them the reformulated questions. Also suggest other names- some we wanted like Sara Joseph, we can have NS Madhavan, KR Meera, Sitara, Chandramati,Santosh Echikanam, N Prabhakaran, CVBalakrishnan, M Mukundan... who else? All may not respond, so we may send to as many as 20. I shall think more about names too. What about the youngest generation- they were not represented in our real discussion. Anyone who reads/ writes both?
Ani, we will only have a strict selection from Welsh poetry- I am not yet sure of its quality except for a few though Welsh poetry itself is new to most of our readers. I would also like to introduce a really good Indian poet of the middle generation-Ranajit Das  from Bengal whose poetry  (in English translation) I had reviewed in Indian Literature.
Then we have the 9 poems of the cyber section, some postponed poems.  shall contact Vishnunararyanana, Akkitham etc plus fresh poetry from those who did not appear in this or the last issue- Mohanakrishnan Kalady,Govindanunni, Ajith etc and fresh ones. We have the postponed reviews and articles too. Ani, you may write anote on your translation experience too- of Welsh poets. I shall try too- not an essay, but a short note.
One question has been dodged: distribution in the ciities- please suggest names to Priyadas. Veeran kutty had agreed to do it in and around Vadakara- Madappilly. We may need someone else for Kozhikode proper.
Love to all.  Satchida

Dear All

Let us bringout the next issue before Jan 13. If we stick to around 120 pages, I think the matter is almost ready, except for poems. We will have the cyber poem section. I feel that another 15 to  20 poems at the most will do.However, let us try collecting matter to have enough for the next 2 issues...
The participants of the Katha Kavita discussion, and other possible contributors need to be contacted for improving it. Since the process will take time, it has to be initiated fast.

We should be able to organise advt for Rs 50,000 for the next issue. Let us approach more people soon.

A review of this issue in mainstream journals now, would do good.

It would be a good idea to have a meeting of the persons concerned asap to decide on the action plan and define  responsibilities

Best

Anitha

The suggestion on additional names for symposium in Satchi mash's mail is packed with fiction writers. So pls select one or two from that list and add 1 or 2 poets too like KGS, Savithri Rajeevan, Anitha, and Rajeevan....
And, mashe, i have strong differences with the qualitative comparison between fiction and poetry that was understood in the statements made by many in that session.... Ok. anyone have the right to compare the outputs of different genres personally, but still it wont  essentially meet the cause of critical debate on paralleling genres in a given historical as well as aesthetic context. I think, no one in that session did consider the idiomatic difference of both the genres except in Joseph's observation....

Im preparing an address list with postal and email details.. will finish within 2 days...
Pls see my other mail on the follow up.
