GoPro recently released their new 360 camera called Fusion, which can film 5.2K resolution 360 videos. Coinciding with the Fusion camera release, GoPro has also released some free VR/360 plugins for Adobe Premiere Pro and Adobe After Effects. The best part is that you can use these plugins with any 360 footage, so they are not limited to footage from the Fusion 360 camera. (Here are quick links to directly download the GoPro VR plugins for Windows and for Mac.)
The GoPro VR plugins consist of three effects: Horizon, Layers, and Reframe. Two of these effects, Horizon and Layers, are both quite similar to two Immersive Video effects recently implemented into Adobe CC 2018.
You can now download GoPro VR Plugins for Adobe Premiere and After Effects for free, with effects including GoPro VR Reframe! These plugins can be used to frame a 360 video as a cropped non-360 video, or straighten the horizon of your 360 video.
GoPro has created several plugins for 360 videos for Adobe Premiere and After Effects, including GoPro VR Plugin, which includes GoPro VR Reframe, which enables Premiere to convert a 360 video to a flat, non-360 overcapture video.
Before you install these plugins, install Adobe Premiere CC 2019 first, and if you have GoPro Fusion Studio 1.3 or 1.4, install Fusion Studio first. After installing Premiere (and Fusion Studio, if you have GoPro Fusion), then you can install the plugins. Make sure to install these plugins before installing Insta360 Studio 2019.
Hi, do you have any idea why after installed gopro vr plugins or gopro vr player, the plugin does not install to adobe, and the bridge between adobe premier and gopro is not working. Looks like gopro vr player can not find adobe premier.
I downloaded the gopro plugins and installed the .exe file but it caused both my Premiere and After Affects to lose their ability to use my gpu and I can no longer select OpenCL. How do I undo what this file did??
I meant to reply to this earlier but I eventually fixed it and I wanted to share how. When I installed the plugin it actually installed an extra file with premiere and after effects so when I uninstalled those files were still there and then still there on re install. I eventually found the exact file that was causing the issue bc of these leftovers. So when I installed the be plugin I then just deleted these files and now I have my gpu and opencl back working.
Hi Rod. I mean the article was updated June. Anyway, there is a new one called GoPro FX Reframe. Much more powerful than VR Reframe. See here -fx-reframe-plugin-tutorial-premiere-sophisticated-reframing-controls/
No, I am afraid not. I had already quadruple checked the intrepetation of the videos and the settings of the sequence, all is set to equirectangular with correct fov. Also the viewport button to check the video in a 360 player like window works correctly (before applying the reframe plugin).
GoPro has limited the HyperSmooth feature to the Hero7, but the necessary hardware is built into cameras going back to the Hero 5. This means the software can breathe new life into an old action camera, or make for a better value when buying a used older model in lieu of the Hero7. Any footage shot on a Hero 5 Black, Hero 5 Session, Hero 6, or Hero 7 can be stabilized after the fact with this plugin.
Click on the setting icon above the Reelsteady icon, this allows you to fine tune Stabilization settings, such as enabling Horizon Levelling (horizon lock), Smoothness, Cropping Speed, Lens Correction.
It will check your computers specifications and see if you have enough storage space to install the product, if correct you can press CONTINUE to install the plugin... it will require 262.84 Mb of space to be installed and X-Plane must not be running to do the installation.
Then Aerosoft One's app will download and install the ProCam XP plugin, and when done add ProCam XP to your product list as active. The current version of ProCam XP is also shown (Version 1.0.1.0)... and your now ProCam XP installed.
"Static" is what is says it is, it is just a static viewpoint. "Human" adds in human movement elements in "Head Anticipation" and "Breathing", the same elements you would find in the XPRealistic movement plugin, personally I'm not a big fan of these exaggerated movements and here it also denies you of the left-right pan movements (the up-down movements do still however work).
You can set commands keys to go back and forward between the views so you don't have to go through the menu each time. They are grouped in; Interior (forward/back), Exterior (forward/back) and World (forward/back). Another key command option is to display or hide the menu bar which I highly recommend to save you time going up to the X-Plane/plugins menu.
Overlays to create invisible Click Spots just does not work, but you can't work it out either because the manual is simply diabolically bad in providing any information and details on how to set up and use this tool correctly, there is no video either. I had a few CTD as well or Vulcan freezes while using the plugin. So more work is obviously needed for a few elements of this plugin. Mac OS is also currently not supported.
So what is the main attraction to this view tool plugin... Overall you still can't beat for it's sheer simplicity that is the default X-Plane HotKey view system, but that said you only really have a set of 10 numbered HotKeys. Which is far too few.
Once started I was creating views for everything, so that shows the idea works, and I had a huge amount of fun using it (once I had worked it all out) So overall ProCam XP in that context is a great addition to my plugin toolbox.... recommended? Yes highly.
This is also new for this 2.5 series. Customers were really interested in having more tools to improve the 360 workflow after stitching was finished. And this is why we got into NLE plugins development specifically for VR. This version introduces 2 Adobe Premiere Plugins: (These two plugins are available in the Video Effects menu under GoPro VR folder)
I'm sure, you were all waiting for that feature to happen. An integrated editor for the most time consuming part, the horizon and projection adjustments. So you don't need to switch to Autopano Giga anymore to be able to create a director's cut video or correct the horizon.
The "Camera" track of the previous Autopano Video version has been split into two separate tracks: "Horizon" and "Stitch".These new tracks allow you to compute new stitches without losing all the work you did to keep a straight horizon over the time. This improves the production workflow.
The next version of Autopano Video Pro will be called v1.5 and it will contain the timeline, horizon stabilization but also several new cool features. That release will be synchronized with the one of Autopano Pro / Giga v3.5. This is needed as some of the new features need to appear in both software at the same time.
Our automatic anti-shake and horizon keeping algorithm is also working great and it might also be introduced in version 1.1. This technology has been presented during our presentation about 360-degree video solutions at the annual meeting of the IVRPA.
