Dear rafiki,
Some exciting news, we  awarded the first prize at the SASBE09
international student design competition in Delft and received
commendations from the Dutch Crown Prince on our ‘Algae house’
proposition! We spoke to the Prince and I was very impressed by his
broad knowledge, he has a degree in international water management and
as a result has championed discussions on the future of the Dutch
waterscape. If only a third of our politicians back  home were this
engaged with the realities of our society then we would be an exemplar
in the ‘developing’ world. I must say the other contesting projects
were equally as stimulating however, unfortunately,  there can always
only be one winner. Press from as far as China – CCTV - were on hand
to record the presentations! It was mentioned that our collaborative
approach (between architects, engineers and algae specialists) was
highly exemplary.
Done deal...next an Algaescarper!
Best regards
