Dear people,
Yesterday I was going through photo album of my parents when my mom was young and I kept laughing at her.
Imagine University of Nairobi in 1970s and 80s ladies used to maintain very long hair and long skirts the Afro-hairs.
All Photos were in Black and White lol.
In 1980s Central Bank of Kenya banned its staff from using skin lightnings called AMBI because it contained high levels of mercury that was later found to cause skin cancer.
The ban by CBK was a silent diplomatic policy where female staff were encouraged to maintain African beauty.
And East Africa Industries agreed to supply the employees with their beauty products that included Rexona Soap ,Lux Soap Lifebouy,Omo is cartoon packets unlike today where detergents are put in plastic and nylon containers.
In modern lifestyle many people both male and females spend almost a third of their income n skin lightening which has long devastating effects on their skins thus their health.
As much as beauty lies in eyes of the beholder,I will strongly advocate for natural beauty so that we help reduces health effects of skin lightnings.
Is estimated that skins lightnings cost Kenyans government a fortune in terms of medical care especially on cancer of skin.
Finally what is importance of lip-sticks?
