to Kenya Vetiver Network (KEVN), mwadim...@yahoo.com
- REAP is reporting on its use, in one community (is it Kodera?),
where farmers also produce medicinal herbs including artemisia...
Vetiver is used to retain soil on-farm in spite of heavy rains...
See http://reap-eastafrica.org/reap/?p=96 (and does anybody know
them?)

- NEMA, collaborating with Victoria Lake Basin Development Authority
in a EU funded project, has plans to introduce Vetiver in nurseries in
12 different sites in Western Kenya

- CDTF is interested in funding communities who want to reverse land
degradation, using Vetiver Systems.

- Plans are prepared in Taveta (with CDF) to address flood damage and
soil degradation.

- Kenya Organisation for Environmental Education is interested to
include Vetiver in its curriculum.

- Vetiver can be seen stabilising a steep slope below the parking lot
in... The National Museum.

And many more initiatives!!!

Please send me your updates, especially pictures: we can create a
picasawebsite to show slideshows of your Vetiver projects.

The Kenya Vetiver Network is looking for NGOs interested to join into
a yet-to-be-organized Sustainable Land-Use Forum...

And if you live in western Kenya and you're interested to become a
(volunteer) community land-scaping facilitator, let me know.
