Are there any Green charcoal initiatives in Kenya? see:
http://vetiversenegal.blogspot.com/2009/05/senegal-can-green-charcoal-help-save.html

Vetiver with its high biomass would be a good candidate as a feed-
stock for green charcoal

Incidentally this Vetiver blog in Senegal is a useful and important
source of information particularly for VS application in very dry
areas (300mm). Tony Cisse who writes the blog is a great guy and has
a farm in the Cap Vert area. He is very happy to share information
and is one of the leading vetiver promoters and users in that country.

He has set up a picture gallery at: http://picasaweb.google.com/naajbaal
and a discussion group at: http://groups.google.com/group/vetiver_senegal

He is producing a wide range of tropical fruits in association with VS
