What a busy weekend for chess..........This is just amazing.

I have seen an email and entry form saying there is a selection event starting on Saturday and if you make it to the top ten you play on Sunday which is  fine.

I now receive another email from Chess Kenya saying that the event is on Sunday only?? what is going on. Does it mean that wood pushers like me can play on Saturday - will not qualify as top ten and then turn up again on Sunday to play. Wow so much chess not enough time..............

Johnny,
Is this the unanimous agreement of the multi parties panel to have the
qlfrs on Sunday?

I think players should go to the Saturday event, CK are trying to overrule KNSC who had picked a selection panel to oversee the eliminations. They can conjure up tactics similar to 2007 AAG, it is best to go for the Saturday one as it came from Chef de Mission for teams to AAG.

It is a waste of time to take part in either unless maybe you just want to play chess for the sake of it. Chess will not go to Mozambique! KCU will go on with the already planned blitz party

In retrospect, it was probably a mistake having Kaidanz in a qualification panel for an event he believes will not happen.

That said, I will still turn up at Naivasha hall on Saturday to see what transpires. CK & KNSC are at cross-purposes, and if such manifest ineptitude continues, then sadly the biggest losers may well be the players...

Ck has been given a rope to hang themselves with and they fell 4 it
hook, line n sinker. Lets all turn up in large numbers so we can
finally lay to rest the unfortunate ck.

Ben relax we can't lose this position, it will be an exchange sac but
look beyond that, knsc will now know what the players have been upto
since of ck defunction. Its a score.

Benja ondiek mang'ang'a. There is nothing the players will lose other way. The battle is between CK and KNSC. We tried to warn KNSC of the dragon 'out of control' in the CK but they argued on some line of ' membership' and now they are feeling the reckless of a mad ' The Secretariat'.

Of it works either way one thing is that 8 players get to go to AAG. At some point players must sacrifice something to achieve much mow. The absence of the current impasse.

These episodes prove once again chess has to be the most interesting
sport,on and off the board. We're having so much fun even before the
first round is played. We've never had 'The Secretariat' n CK so
rattled, am loving it. It's too late for them to shift goalposts in
there favour.
Who will they appeal to beyond ministry, Willy Mutunga perhaps or
State House who can't stand their trash.
Kaidanz, I know a good shrink I can recommend, pls give me a call.

Mehul, there goes your chance of qualifying...for i cannot see how you
will make it in a chess-boxing event.

you will slap some pieces of your opponent, only to get a literal slap
that floors you there & then.

Not to forget we have some strong chess-boxers like The Fist of
Githurai

I better start looking for my late Dad's Kirpan (Sikh Sword) to come along for the event.haha.

This is really exciting............A real ChessFest.........Two full days of chess.  What more can a chess player want?  I suggest to guys that we go for both events.  The top ten will of course be busy but hey we are so many more................I want to ask Aman if he wants to come as well for about half a day on either of the days.................I just hope that I can finish my work before the weekend.

as the weekend nears i will tend to be 'tha Fist of Naivasha hall' ,
incase impunity presents itself to disrupt a tourmament being
supervised by KNSC and Ministry of Sports.

Kim Bhari…this is it or him! Shall soon be back to pick up the pieces where I left from. Been catching up with the news & views on the forum. Glad to note that one Mike Rarua - so I learnt- acknowledges my strength, or lack of his against me. The likes of Atwoli COTU, Githinji, Magana, Mehul, Pity Sang (thanks for your profile on me!), Kanegeni, The Beast Mukabi & nameless others have sought me out at my backyard at one point & experienced the agony of facing me; on the board!! Even Mnyama wa UG left with my autograph, in his mind!

Still reading and wondering what became of chess officials…Kim, I shall also be back at CK!
