Postponement of 7th Capablanca Cup

It is now official - The 7th Capablanca Cup has been postponed to a later date.

The deadline for registration was 13th April 2017 and as at 12.30 pm there are 4 paid up entries, 2 Ugandans, 2 confirmed who are making payment later today and one further inquiry. Based on my experience the total number who were going to register was probably in the region of 20 players.

It is clear that the notice was way too short and it would just not work out. The idea of reducing the prize fund from about KES 80k did not appeal to us. We also thought of having one section only but then it would entail us reducing the prize fund from KES 52k for the Open which again was not acceptable to us.

We sincerely apologise for this.
