2015 Nairobi Chess Club Closed Championship

DATES:
18th & 19th April 2015
VENUE:
Goan Gymkhana Club, Ngara Road, Nairobi

Entry Fees
KShs 200 – for already paid up Nairobi Chess Club members & entry paid before 16th April 2015. Entries after this date KShs 300.

KShs 1,000 for players who are not members and wish to become a member for the club for the period to 31st August 2015 & paid before 16th April 2015. Entries after this date KShs 1,200.

Rules and Regulations:

The tournament will be run on Swiss system using accelerated pairing, 5 rounds.
Time Control: 60 minutes per player to finish per game. No walk/over, expiry of the time on the clock will decide.

Timetable

18th April 2015 - Round 1 –-1.30pm to 3.30pm, Round 2 – 3.45pm to 5.45pm
19th April 2015 - Round 3 – 8.30am to 10.30am, Round 4 – 10.45am to 12.45pm, Round 5 – 1.30pm to 3.30pm. Prize Giving Ceremony 3.45pm.

Registration: Entries by email and sms together with cash/Mpesa/direct banking to be done by 16th April 2015. Entries received after this date will cost KShs300 for already paid up members & KShs 1,200 for newly registered members who wish to pay for membership to 31st August 2015.

Entries received on 18th April 2015 will miss round 1. MPesa number to be used KS Bhari 254-704-179797. For Airtel use 254-733-733092 (Add KShs 30 withdrawal charges). Draw for round 1 to be published on our
website www.nairobichessclub.com and Facebook page on 18th April 2015
The event will be used to select 8 members (inclusive of 2 ladies) of the team for the 2015/16 National League. Two players (Peter Gilruth & Mehul Gohil) have automatic selection to the team which will have a total of 10 players.

Only one prize per winner.

The winner will be crowned “2015 Nairobi Chess Club Closed Champion” and have their name engraved on the floating trophy.
