First, let me say I hope each one of you has a wonderful Thanksgiving. I am grateful for many things in my life, but when it comes to my Kentucky Winlink Net family, I want to express my appreciation for those of you who make this net possible. There would be no net without folks to check in each week. I want to emphasize that this is just as much your net as it is mine. As many of you have heard me say over the years, if you know someone who is struggling during the holidays, invite them to dinner, watch a game together, and let them know they are not alone. So, in closing, please enjoy your time with family and friends, and we’ll resume next week. &# and Happy Thanksgiving, de AF4Y.
Last Week's Trivia Answer: The first Thanksgiving football game was a college game between Princeton and Yale on November 30, 1876, where Yale won 2-0. The first-ever recorded Thanksgiving football game, however, was a non-college contest on November 17, 1869, between the Young America Cricket Club and the Germantown Cricket Club in Philadelphia. College football traditions took off after the 1876 game, especially after the championship game moved to New York City in 1880, with the NFL tradition beginning much later in 1934.
