Daniel Limmer, EMT-P, I/C
November 5, 2014
12:00pm – 1:00pm (EST)
Description
This presentation uses many common medical and traumatic emergencies to examine the cognitive material—and the way we teach. Do we truly understand what is important and teach accordingly? How will we teach many of the upcoming changes to clinical science? How will we teach new material when we are uncertain of the current protocols and exam content? This presentation will answer these questions and give the EMS educator a fresh look at teaching old and new material.
Objectives
• Identify 4 major changes to science that have recently affected instruction or will affect your instruction in the next 12 months.
• Relate evolving science to the need of the EMS student at various certification levels.
• Compare and contrast education focused on the exam with education focused on practice/critical thought.
