Dear Career Services:

The Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office is dedicated to diversity and making sure that all segments of the community are aware of the employment opportunities available. Our assistants are representative of the community that we serve. Having a diverse office further ensures that our assistants are sensitive and respectful of the ethnic, cultural, and socioeconomic needs for our victims, witnesses, and the accused.

We would like to provide your students an opportunity to meet some of our assistants and hear how they can make a difference by joining our office.

On Friday, September 18, 2009, we are having our 5th Annual Minority Law Students Reception. The evening will consist of a short program followed by a networking reception.

This event will be held at The John Marshall Law School, Room 3 East, 315 South Plymouth Court, Chicago, IL 60604 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Registration begins at 5:15 p.m. Students are being asked to RSVP for this event to April Evans at 312-603-1871 or aev...@cookcountygov.com.

We have sent letters to all of the minority bar associations at your school to personally invite their members. Additionally, a copy of this letter will be sent to your office, along with an event flyer. A flyer for this event is enclosed in this letter.

We do realize that this event may be scheduled after the on campus interview-bidding deadline has passed for your school. We make reference to this fact in our letter to the students and stress the importance of meeting that deadline. I look forward to meeting your students at this event and answering any questions they may have.
