I saw my first Orange Tip of the spring yesterday near Paddock Wood plus I had fantastic views of a buzzard performing all sorts of tumbling manoeuvres right over head as it was being mobbed by 2 crows.

It has been a morning of fighting this morning. The kestrels defending their nests from up to five magpies. As soon as the kestrels arrive with a vole, the magpies will try and releive them of it. The jay chasing the blackbird, then the blackbird chasing the jay. The jay and the magpie also having a major difference of opinion, and all the time the robins busily to and fro feeding their newly hatch babies. On that point is cheese a good thing for baby robins, as the parents will often bring in a chunk of cheddar left for them by a thoughtful neighbour?
