Some New sections have been introduced to the Gambo Race section on
the Kenfig.org website - these are:

To include New Gambo Rules for 2010, Entry details 2010, Calendar of
Events, Gambo Race Petition (see below)

GAMBO RACE PETITION
There is a petition circulating throughout the Kenfig area
highlighting the bureaucratic attitude of local government and the
soaring costs involved in the policing of community 'charity' events
in the Bridgend County - especially the 'Gambo Race'. The petition
will be delivered to the First Minister at the Welsh Assembly
Government.

RURAL DEVELOPMENT - BRIDGEND
Reach is the new name for the Rural Development Programme in Bridgend.
It’s the first time the county has had funding of this nature from
Europe. Funded through the European Agricultural Fund for Rural
Development and the Welsh Assembly Government the aim of reach is to
create a cohesive, sustainable and connected rural Bridgend.

The Annual Gambo Race held each August Bank Holiday weekend throughout
the Kenfig vicinity has been listed as a Carnival/Community Event
through the Reach (The Rural Development Programme in Bridgend) rural
tourism directory.
