I am happy to announce that the Kendo Playing Cards game is available for pre-ordering, and I would kindly ask for your help.We are trying to organize a small crowd-funding to make it happen.If you could forward this message to your Federation members, it would be greatly appreciated.We try to collect 300 pre-orders to have the sets printed.
The pre-ordering is possible by a simple order through PayPal on our website, which is safe, as the buyer is protected by PayPal.If we do not reach the 300 pre-orders until 06.11. 24:00, all pre-orders will be immediately refunded.

Dear Kendoists!

I am contacting you because the final version of the Kendo Playing Card has been completed, which has been improved in several points compared to the previous version. Below I have summarized briefly what has changed. Thanks to the expansion of the referee and focus tokens, it ended up being a really fun game. Alternatively, the whole rule can be downloaded from the website.
While the previous versions were more of a game for kendo players, this is now more of a game about kendo for anyone, as it really contains minimal expressions, those are also replaced by mere colors. After all, one of the main aims of the whole thing was to bring kendo into a different medium, so that we could possibly reach other non-kendo people, generate interest, etc.
The idea was to get 300 pre-orders together, so we could start printing. Because of the expansions, it's not just a card game anymore, it's almost a mini-board game, the box has been made into a two-piece hard box, it will have proper tokens, etc. Anyone who would like to help to make this project a reality, please place your orders on our website until 6 Nov 2021 24:00.

Main features:
✅ Only 1 game mode, 2 players.

✅ Approx. 10 years of age and 10-30 minutes of game time.

✅ Few Japanese expressions, but knowledge of them is not necessary, because their functions can be associated with colours and pictures, we have also placed visual aids on the cards to help you know what to use them against

✅ Focus tokens add an extra layer to the gameplay because if you change a lot you will run out of tokens and your "concentration level" will decrease and the more difficult the situation

✅ Extended referee tokens, which add a fun layer to the game, because you have to watch the other player's facial expressions and reactions, so you can't be surprised or show it, just like in real fencing, because the other player can yell Yame! and if you have a certain card in your hand, you lose.

✅ The set is international, so there is minimal text on the cards, the rules will be translated into several languages and a visual aid will be made to get you started quickly,
