Tata Sponge Iron Ltd has posted a 77.43 per cent increase in net
profit at Rs 29.33 crore for the quarter ended June 2008, as compared
to Rs 16.53 crore posted in the corresponding quarter last year
(2007-2008).
Total income of the company has increased 11 per cent at Rs 114.56
crore, as compared to Rs 103.20 crore posted in the first quarter last
year.
The Orissa based company is a joint venture of Tata Steel and the
Industrial Promotion and Investment Corporation of Orissa Ltd
(IPICOL).
