It contains a Realtek RTL8192CU chipset. There's some instructions here from 2013 that should still be in date if you'd like to compile the Linux driver instead: wireless - Compile and install rtl8192cu driver - Ask Ubuntu
Hello. i goggled how to make a belkin n300 wireless usb adapter work in ubuntu. And i tried the procedures but i can;t get it to work. I tried: Run this command: Code: sudo gedit /etc/udev/rules.d/network_drivers.rules
Actually, the laptop has two PCMCIA slots, maybe I could find one of those? Also, it seems to have started acting up when I switched to the newer version of the adapter. Maybe I need to try the older one again.
I'm trying to configure my wireless adapter for use on my Ubuntu machine. I had this particular configuration working before on Ubuntu 14.04, however after updating, the same methods I used to get it to work previously are no longer working. I would prefer ethernet interface, however a power surge fried the ethernet port.
I have discovered my problem. There were some discrepancies in the interface name in my /etc/network/interfaces file. Fixing those, restarting wpa_supplicant, and then bringing up the interface allowed me to successfully connect to the internet.
