It has been a month now and I see no posting of a solution for the issue with the app not updating on firestick. When trying to update on Amazon the information reads that the firestick is incompatible. So what is next?

So, this thread is filled with Xfinity employees giving all kinds of time consuming and useless 'advice' trying to address the issue, even stating that Firestick OS 5.2.9.3 is supported, which now obviously it does not. 2 of my 3 Firesticks are 2nd Gen and work perfectly fine for our dozen+ other installed apps

Yet, we JUST ordered Xfinity last week where the salesperson raved about how great it is that we already have Firestick so can use Xfinity streaming, without checking which devices we have. And the installer today had absolutely no idea why he couldn't get the app installed, even calling his support. His advice? Wait a while and it might work later.

So I just wasted 2 hours tonight rebooting, updating, creating new profiles, etc, and finally after searching the forums do I see others with the same issue. My husband was ready for us to order 2 Xfinity set top boxes for $15/month each. Makes me wonder if there was a plan there. Instead Amazon will reap the benefits when I order 2 new fire sticks.

These tables contain excerpts from the NFIRS 5.0 design documentation tables in Excel spreadsheet format to help with new software development. Included in this download are the data dictionary (codes and descriptors), chemicals table, wildland federal agency codes, edit requirements, relational edits, security levels, incident flat file transfer format, and incident module rules.

This file includes the following forms: Basic, Supplemental, Fire, Structure Fire, Civilian Fire Casualty, Fire Service Casualty, Emergency Medical Services, Hazardous Materials, Wildland Fire, Apparatus or Resources, Personnel, Arson, and Juvenile Firesetter. These forms may be used as a basis for state or local forms.

The Structure Fire Cause Matrix helps NFIRS users assign fire incidents to the correct structure fire cause categories. It includes the three-level structure fire cause hierarchy and definitions for mid-level cause groupings.

An updated version of the 2003 cause hierarchy for structure fires. The revised schema provides three levels of cause descriptions: a set of more detailed causes (priority cause description), a set of mid-level causes (cause description), and a set of high-level causes (general cause description).

The Entity Relationship Diagram helps third party integrators to develop a local database in accordance with the NFIRS 5.0 specification and users to run queries against a copy of their NFIRS local database.

The Fire HD 10 remains our favorite of Amazon's tablets. Amazon refreshed it in late 2023 with a slightly faster processor. The company claims a 25 percent speed increase, but after testing it for a few months, I'm not seeing a huge difference in general. It's marginally faster, but nowhere near competing tablets (which, to be fair, cost at least twice as much). The nice things about the Fire HD 10 compared to other Fire tablets are the larger screen, which actually hits 1080p, making it better for watching videos, and the 3 GB of RAM, which helps in browsing the web with many tabs.

As with any Alexa device, you can shout commands from across the room using Show Mode. To turn it on, just swipe down on the notification overlay and check the Show Mode box. After that, you can set your HD 10 on a stand to essentially turn it into an Echo Show.

There's a keyboard option as part of the Keyboard Case Bundle ($190) if you want to do more than consume Prime content. Working on the Fire HD 10 isn't as terrible as you might think, as long as you don't need Google apps. None of Google's office apps work on the Fire HD 10, not even in the browser. (There is a workaround.)

If you're all in on all things Amazon, the Fire Max 11 (5/10, WIRED Review) is the company's most powerful tablet. It's also much pricier than the Fire 10. With a base price of $230, you're only $10 away from a 9th-gen iPad ($240). The list of things an iPad can do that the Fire Max 11 can't is longer than I have space for here. That said, if all you plan to do is consume Amazon content, and the price doesn't bother you, the Fire Max 11 is a good way to do it. The screen is bright and sharp enough, the speakers aren't bad, and the cameras are 1080p and nicer than the cameras on the rest of the Fire tablets.

However, this premium-priced tablet is still hamstrung by the same Fire OS that powers the cheaper models. While Fire OS seems okay when you pay $50 for it on sale, it feels a lot more limiting at $230. If you want to do anything more than watch Prime video and browse the web, we suggest you spend the extra money on an iPad, Pixel Tablet, or Lenovo tablet. See our Best Tablets guide for more mid-level tablet options that offer a better value than the Fire Max 11.

Amazon's 2022 version of the Fire HD 8 (6/10, WIRED Review) features a faster processor and slightly thinner design, but it's very much an incremental update. The processor upgrade is welcome and makes this more travel-friendly-size tablet very nearly as fast as our top pick. The big difference is the screen, which isn't nearly as nice as the Fire 10 HD screen. On this smaller model, pixels are often still visible and movies often feel flat.

The Kids Edition versions are exactly the same as the regular Fire tablets, except they come with a rugged case and a two-year worry-free guarantee, which means Amazon will replace the tablet for free if your kids break it. It also comes with one year of Amazon Kids+, offering access to kid-friendly movies, books, games, and apps. It costs $6 per month after the first year (for Prime subscribers, $9 if you don't have Prime). Be sure to see our guide to managing Amazon Kids+ content.

Amazon refreshed its smallest Fire tablet in 2022. The 7-inch model features a slightly more powerful processor, double the RAM, and longer battery life. It also charges via USB-C. Unfortunately, the paltry 16 GB of storage remains, though the supported SD card size has gone up to 1 terabyte, so if you want more storage (and believe me, you do), you can add it. Also up for this release is the price, which jumps from $49 to $59.

Get a keyboard for work: I won't go so far as to suggest a Fire Tablet can replace your laptop, but I have found that I can get a good bit of work done on my 2021 Fire HD 10 when I pair it with Finitie's Bluetooth Keyboard ($30). It lacks a trackpad, and the keys are a little smaller, but it's otherwise quite nice to type on. I have not tested the new version of the keyboard, but the specs are very similar. If you score a Fire HD 10 for $55 during a sale, get the keyboard for $55 (it's often on sale for less) and use our guide to get the Google Play Store installed, and you'll have a very usable work device for around $100. That's tough to beat. I find the Fire 10 with a keyboard better value than the Fire Max 11, which also has a productivity bundle that includes a keyboard. It's a nicer keyboard though it is not free-standing, so balancing it in your lap is awkward. It does have a trackpad, but it's more than double the price of the Fire HD 10 keyboard combo and it just isn't worth that much money.

Only buy one of the 12th or 13th Generation Fire tablets. We suggest sticking to the models we talk about in this article (also listed here). Older-model Fire tablets won't get software updates for as long as the current generation will. You'll also miss out on the faster processor and more RAM in the newer models. A far better idea is to wait for Prime Day or another sale when you can get the new models at 30 to 50 percent off.

Seriously, Fire Tablets are loss leaders for Amazon Prime. Unless you reeeeally need it right now, there's no reason to pay full price. Fire HD tablets go on sale for at least 30 percent off multiple times a year, and they are 50 percent off during Prime Day sales (which, remember, isn't a single day anymore, but a three-times-a-year sale). Do the math here and you're basically never more than two months from getting one for at least 30 percent off. Do yourself a favor and wait for the sale. It'll make your Fire HD tablet that much better.

Cheap: Did we mention the price? They all cost $200 or less, save the new Max 11. If you stick to the cheaper models though, they're a great value. You can also get them with Amazon lock-screen ads, which will lower your price by $15.

Unique Characteristics: Only Fire TV Stick that is 4.25 inches (108 mm) long, including the HDMI connector, that also has an Amazon arrow logo. Other Fire TV Stick models with only the Amazon arrow logo that are shorter than 4.25 inches are not a Fire TV Stick 4K.Model Number: E9L29Y (Printed on the back)Released: October 31, 2018

Both the 2nd-gen Fire TV Stick 4K and 2nd-gen Fire TV Stick 4K Max have rounded edges which are different from the squared edges of all other Fire TV Stick models. However, those two models look physically identical, so the only way to tell them apart is to look for the model number on the side opposite the Fire TV logo. Model number M3N6RA is the 2nd-gen Fire TV Stick 4K and model number K3R6AT is the 2nd-gen Fire TV Stick 4K Max.

If your Fire TV is a large rectangular box and it has a coaxial plug on the back, then it is a 1st-generation Fire TV Recast that was released on November 14, 2018. This is not a media player, like all of the other Fire TV models above. It is a network over-the-air (OTA) tuner and DVR that serves as an accessory to all Fire TV devices.
