custom messages with realtime informaton

I saw that using the built in text it the screen saver was able to
pull system information, time and other information.

Is there a way with a custom text file that I could make my own
messages with the realtime information?

Yes, please see the documentation/page and it will tell how to do
this.

There is a short description under the FAQ section.  I don't have extensive documentation, sorry.
Go to the screensaver settings for this screensaver. You'll see a tab labelled "Top Text Display". In that tab, you'll see options to use a text file to display the top text displayed in the screensaver. There is not currently an option to have the screensaver display Both the system info and your text file at the same time.
