Scanning barcodes

Dear Jurgen, 

In a recent email to the group, someone was saying that scanning is no longer working. But It has never worked for me. 

Should it be working? Or is there anything I need to do for it to work? I really like the app and the main limitation for me is adding wines by hand.

Dear Aluisio,

fetching data from a database was always a challenge for a couple of reasons. The scanning is working fine but using the code to get good quality product master data requires paid access to master data services. And even if you pay, there is no garanty you will find good quality data.

In the run of AI getting better and better I hope for a small local LLM runnable on mobile devices. Last year when I did m'y first evaluation that was not available.
