Igot an email that says "Google files in Dropbox will be replaced with shortcuts to documents in Google Drive" and "If you do not wish to move your Google files to your Google account, they will be automatically converted to Microsoft files." I'm not sure which option to choose. I mostly use Dropbox to store Word files, most of which were originally created using Microsoft Word but since I usually use Dropbox in a web browser, I've been opening them and creating them using Google docs for years now. Which option is least likely to result in reformatting issues? Which will be easiest to use going forward if I'm mostly just editing and creating text documents?
What will happen when this migration takes place, is that your Google files will become .web files in Dropbox that point to the same file in Google Drive, so you can edit and share the file through Google directly.

Apologies up front if this is already addressed, but if so, I can't find it. I need help understanding the Dropbox/Google changes that are taking place. Here is my simplistic reading. If I search my Dropbox account for .gdoc, .gsheet, or .gslide files (I've only found one), those files will be moved to google drive unless I convert them (it) to a Microsoft format. Even if I don't convert it and it moves, there will still be a link from Dropbox to the google drive file. Is this all correct?
Hi, I got an email saying this migration had happened but never saw the email that warned me it was going to take place to stop it. Can I revert back to Google files? How do I stop this from happening again? thanks!
***UPDATE: I just tried making a new Google Doc, using their API and I received a 500: Internal Server Error so I am concerned that when the files migrate, they will yield the same response error. Is that how you will be moving the files to Drive?
Hello, I am trying to convert multiple files with different extensions using the 'ConvertFile' automation, so that it can be display on the layout. However, when there are different types of files in one incident, it keeps giving me an error. What would be the best way to list all files and convert them by EntryID? Here what I currently have configure with the fields and transformations.
What error are you getting? ConvertFile can handle multiple files of different types with no issues (just tested on my instance), so if there's an issue with what you've got it seems likely it's in the Filter/Transformer section.
I was able to get this error: "Failed converting file. General exception: failed to get artifact file path, invalid file (52)" by manually deleting the referenced files from /var/lib/demisto/artifacts - can you check that directory to make sure the expected files are still there?
I prepared manifest file using all FASTQ sequences and now I need to prepare a metadata file. Is it a must? Also, how to convert the manifest file (CSV) into .qza.
My facility gave me a yml file with only one line as a metadata file but I am sure this is not metadata file. metadata should be a table.
The metadata file that is discussed here is your clinical/environmental information associated with your samples. You should have collected this (ideally) when you collected yoru samples. It might come from your animal facility, chart review, a survey, etc, etc, etc. You can see the QIIME-specific metadata requirements here.
For my work I have 986 files that are in the .oir (Olympus) format. Our institute got the chance to play around with a new Olympus confocal and I do not have access to their software. Eager to see how my images came out, I installed the Olympus plugin on ImageJ (technically I am running FIJI, version 1.51g) and was able to open the files and play around with them.
There is a post by @ctrueden in another thread that might be helpful for you. Especially the Process_Folder.ijm macro. You can replace lines 28 and 29 with the loading mechanism of the Olympus plugin as recorded by the Plugins > Macros > Record command. For more information take a look at the Introduction to Macro Programming page of the ImageJ wiki.
when i change copy and move = false the script without the convert plugin will save the tags to the file in its source dir/file. As soon as i throw in the convert plugin it makes a mp3 in the Complete folder and the directory names are named for the path. So the new path is /DATA/lidarr/Complete/_/DATA/lidarr/Compete.mp3
I was thinking of a (higher quality settings) conversion in Handbrake, but the output will be MP4, which has compression and I understand that PP does not work great with large and many MP4-files as sources? Would convert to MOV be better and what would the best way to do that be? Thanks.
Generally yeah, you have the right idea. If you're going to convert files, something like QuickTime ProRes or a higher quality codec would be best, especially if you're doing addional editing to the footage.
Any views on how to get it done with QuickTine ProRes? Compressor is still reading DV-files? Wondershare Uniconverter? My son uses a copy of FCP, so maybe open the DV-files there and export with QuickTime ProRes? There are a lot of files to convert though....
Yeah, agreed. I think the logic was such a small percentage of users use that anymore that it didn't make sense to support any longer. And since you're on Mac, I assume that the older versions (early 2018 and older) are not compatible with your operating system any longer, either - if you even have those older versions installed (I believe they are unavailable to download now).
You are right. I followed Ann's suggestion below and Shutter Encoder is really excellent. I did not find any other free app that converts DV to ProRes, (not sure why it did not show up in my searches before).
Is there any more efficient way to convert a huge amount of files?like 500 rhino files or even 2000 rhino files? The target format is 3ds and obj,I know to convert them in the same open file can be a disaster for CPU,this way i tried is inconvenient and anti-human-and-computer,if one step crash, all crash, and so do i
I hacked the following script together from a couple of others I had. Will save all .3dm files found in a given folder as .obj. Check/modify the .obj export settings (meshing parameters, etc). as you need. If you say you master Python you can probably adapt this script to do .3ds.
Surprisingly, the photos taken on my iPhone 13 Pro are saved in .heic format when I connected it to my Windows 11 PC and plan to edit some of them in Photoshop. I have roughly 1000 images on iPhone and would love to learn a fast way to bulk convert .heic to jpg on my PC.
[Update] Still receive notification from this thread from time to time. Actually, I installed a few heic converters, the one that finally worked is TunesBro HEIC Converter, suggested by Mohamed857. Here is the step-by-step tutorial (external link removed by moderator) you can check out.
CloudConvert is a powerful online file conversion service that supports over 200 different file formats, including HEIC, JPG, and more. It allows users to convert files without installing any software on their computer, making it a convenient solution for various file conversion needs. The platform is designed with an easy-to-use interface, enabling users to quickly convert files without any prior technical knowledge.
Please be cautious when using online converters, as uploading personal or sensitive images to third-party websites might pose privacy risks. Also, the conversion speed may depend on your internet connection and the size of the files being converted.
However, instead of importing your photos as HEIC and then converting them on your PC, you should be able to import them directly as JPG (having the phone convert them upon transfer). For this, change the settings on the iPhone. I have it in French but in English the option in the camera settings should be named something like "Transfer to Mac or PC" and then a choice between Original file (=HEIC) and Automatic (=HEIC when transferring to a Mac and JPG in other cases).
So, I recently got myself one of those fancy new iPhones, and it comes with this nifty HEIC photo format. It's all cool for saving space, but when it comes to sharing pics with friends who aren't on Team Apple, well, that's a bit of a pickle.
