HiI hope someone can find a solution to this problem, I have to re-installed windows 7 on my DELL Xps 17 due to a problem with Mcafee Software. Thinking that I would resolve one problem I end up with another one bigger than the first one, so know I am missing my network controller driver which I can not find any ware. That is the only drive that I need for my wireless to work, and I am going a bit mad here try to find a solution, Any help will be greatly appreciated.
As this is a very long thread and I have listed almost all Dell Wireless Cards hardware IDs and drivers in a wiki I will mark this as an answer so users can find the information they need at the top of the thread.
Network Controller is related to the Wireless card drivers. There are different XPS 17 computer models. If you can provide me the exact computer model I will able to provide the correct wireless card driver.
hi there I finally resolve the issue, 5 minutes ago, "Intel Centrino Ultimate-N 6300, Centrino Advanced-N 6200, Centrino Wireless-N 1000, v.13.2.1.5, A00" inside the driver's folder 'iprodifx' it did the job. Thanks anyway for your time and attention.
Thanxz Chinmay for you reply. I have already downloaded all the drivers which you linked me the wireless link each time i run the file it gives me an error of the operation system is not supported the software will not be installed. Setup will now exit. I have done everything according to your instructions still i have Network Controller with yellow exclamation mark and Video Controller and lastly Standard VGA Graphics adapter despite the fact, i downloaded all the driver and ran it as administrative each time after successfully installation restarted the laptop. Once again my laptop in inspiron 1525 window vista, inten pentium dual core inside. Kindly, help me resolve this issue of network so i can get my internet.
All the drivers above are compatible with Windows Vista 32 bit Operating System. May I know since how long you been facing this issue? Also, In order to assist you in a better way, I would need the Service Tag of your computer.
I have checked my Decive Manager and under Network Adapters this is what I have installed, I don't know if these are the drivers for the model I have XPS 17 L702x, I just installed the driver that are for my system on the Dell website:
Download and install Intel network connection driver: -Gigabit-Network-Connection-Driver-for-Intel-NUC-Kits-NUC6i-x-SY-and-NUC6i7KYK?product=89187 Download Intel Gigabit Network Connection Driver for Intel NUC Kits NUC6i[x]SY and NUC6i7KYK
1. Usually, the driver file is in .exe format. Extract and decompress the file to a folder. (To extract the file, you need an archive utility such as 7zip. If you don't have one, you can download it online.)
I bought the NUC6i7KYK from Amazon in end December and I encountered the same problem during the installation of Windows 10. When I attempted to install the LAN using device drivers of version 21.1 downloaded from Intel website, I got an warning "There is an issue with Microsoft Windows 10 that prevents the Intel Advanced Network Services feature from work correctly. You may install the feature, although you will be unable to create Intel ANS Teams and VLANs. Do you wish to install the feature?" When I clicked 'Yes' to proceed, I saw the "device not install". However, after I downgrade to version 20.x recommended in this thread, I can see the same warning message and successfully complete the installation of the LAN device driver as an interim solution.
I find out the problem. The problem is caused the Windows 10 licence used. The licence that I used for the initial installation was a licence before activation for evaluation purposes. This licence inhibited all Windows and device drivers update, Windows Store download, etc. After I have properly activated the Windows 10 licence, I am able to download all the Windows updates and successfully installed the latest device drivers included the Intel LAN drivers 21.1.
Message, it hangs for a while and then fails. I have no idea why a driver is being released with this problem, I assume it's on Microsoft's end based one what I've read. If I then try and install using Intel's tool I get:
Before trying the fix of installing the old driver, I read this thread and checked the activation status in System - and yes it was Activated. I didn't have an internet connection when I initially installed Windows or tried to install the drivers that came on the mobo disk but I did install a genuine copy of Windows and did connect it afterwards (I maybe wrong assuming an internet connection is needed for activation).
I have the exact same problem, I attempted to install -Network-Adapter-Driver-for-Windows-10 Intel Network Adapter Driver for Windows 10 version 21.1 (the latest version at this time), the install of the driver would hang for 5 minutes, and then fail. Due to this post, I installed -Network-Adapter-Driver-for-Windows-10 Intel Network Adapter Driver for Windows 10 version 20.7.1 and the driver and wired ethernet connection works fine. This is only a temporary solution, what happens when there is a network driver update we need to move to, but it doesn't work? This is unacceptable, please provide a fix for the latest driver.
Edit 01/03/17: See my recent /thread/109626 post for additional details including how I worked around the problem of not being able to install the current latest -Network-Adapter-Driver-for-Windows-10 Intel Network Adapter Driver for Windows 10 version 21.1.

the thing that prevents me from doing so is the Realtek RTL8188EE 802.11 bgn Wi-Fi Adapter (code 10 message) which i had previously uninstalled because my wifi connection kept dropping in hopes the adapter would autonatically come back by the time i restarted it but it hasnt come back since I cant access any wifi networks on this device please help and thank you in advance
i just tried the driver but it didnt solve the problem i have, i cannot connect to any wifi signal it only shows the airplane mode button and i cant even click it also my "network controller" says it needs its drivers to be reinstalled (code 18) but when i try to do that it says "Windows found drivers for your device but encountered an error while attempting to install them." "Realtek RTL...WiFI adapter" "One of the installers for this device cannot preform the installation at this time." I've tried restarting multiple times with the new drivers but no luck so far.. thank you again for your pateience and taking the time out of your day to help me
"Windows found drivers for your device but encountered an error while attempting to install them" same realtek thing popped up while I was trying to install the driver.. It's funny how something that is apparently gone is causing this much, is there any way other than the device manager that I can find the Realtek RTL WiFi adapter? I uninstalled it but I think it's what's stopping me from adding new drivers..
I'm trying to enable Intel SRT on my laptop. To do this, I need to change SATA controller mode from AHCI to RAID. The problem is that windows has no drivers for RAID and I can't install it while controller is in AHCI mode.
For now I have RAID driver in INF package (inf, sys, cat files). And I can load Windows recovery console with controller in RAID mode. The last thing to do is to intall this driver, but I don't know how to do it.
For me pnputil.exe did not do the trick. However, I found the following command, which helped: dism /Image:C:\ /Add-Driver /Driver:D:\ /Recurse. This assumes that your Windows is installed at C:\ and the disk with the driver is present at D:\. This appears to even work, if the disk contains drivers for different architectures (x86 and x64) and operating system versions (XP, 7, ...).
I encountered an issue where I had a VM (W2k12) on Proxmox and needed more than one driver. However, I didn't know which driver was required, and pnputil was not available for Windows Server 2012 in the recovery console.
a. I ran the command for /r %d in (*.inf) do drvload %d. This command searches recursively in the current directory and its subdirectories for all files and loads them as drivers. By doing this, I made sure that all available drivers were loaded into the system.
These commands assume that the Windows operating system is installed on the C: drive. The pnputil command installs a driver with the specified .inf file using the -i -a options. The dism command, which is used for servicing Windows images, adds a driver from the D: drive to the C: drive using the /Image:C:\ and /Driver:D:\ parameters. The /Recurse option ensures that the command recursively searches for drivers in the specified location.
In this case, I assumed that the D: drive represented my CDROM/USB drive, and there were .inf files present. These commands changed the directory to the D: drive using cd /D D:, and then, using the for /r loop, iterated through each .inf file. The drvload command was used to install the driver in the recovery, and the c:\windows\pnputil -i -a command installed the driver using the pnputil tool.
The workaround solutions I employed involved recursive searches and executing commands against each driver file found. This enabled the installation of multiple drivers even in cases where the native recursive function was not available, such as in Windows Server 2012.
I reinstalled windows server couple of times and each time the drivers are not being picked up. My motherboard is ASRock Z97 Extreme 4. I tried installing the drivers from manufacturers website and it wont let me install the network adapter driver. When I try to install intel LAN driver v20. it says no intel adpater found. Please share your wisdom. This is driving me crazy.
