Press Release – For Immediate Release – Please post to all appropriate venues

4 August 2019 – Perryville, Maryland, USA

Keibooks is pleased to announce its long-awaited and much anticipated new and upgraded website. Located at the same URL, AtlasPoetica.org, the new website features a fresh modern look, expanded content, disability access, mobile access, and legal compliance with privacy laws in various jurisdictions ranging from California to the European Union.

New content includes a ‘Read Tanka Poetry’ section for free online reading of tanka poetry books, including the first three volumes of Take Five : Best Contemporary Tanka, generously provided by Denis M. Garrison and METPress, as well as a new section to open in 2020 of online tanka chapbooks. Two new special features, ‘Sin Fronteras / Borders Without Boundaries,’ edited by Don Miller, and ’25 Death Poems,’ edited by Michael H. Lester are available for your reading pleasure. Other special features will be coming later in the year. The newly organized Resources section divides articles into topics and different skill levels to help guide students of tanka. Three new articles expand the understanding of tanka.

The Shop at Keibooks section has been revamped and should make it easier for readers to shop for tanka poetry books. In addition, the website has been enrolled in the Amazon Associates program, so each time you click on a link that takes you to Amazon.com and make a purchase, it generates a small commission for Keibooks. The small press has always operated on a shoestring, with careful management so that its modest revenues cover its routine expenses. An additional revenue stream, even a small one, will help secure the future of Atlas Poetica and the many other fine publications, projects, and resources offered by Keibooks. Now is an excellent time to shop for tanka poetry books.

Web design is by Kira Nash, who has worked hard on a limited budget to make the website the best it can be. Additional labor was provided by Grunge, our proofreader. Generous financial support from patrons of tanka poetry, some of whom made multiple donations, are keenly appreciated. Atlas Poetica : A Journal of World Tanka, is read for free by approximately 5000 (five thousand) people, but only a handful of people actually pay to purchase a print or ebook version of the journal. Their generous support subsidizes the journal and its publications for thousands of readers around the world.

Back issues of Atlas Poetica are available to read for free online at: <http://AtlasPoetica.org>. Visitors to the site will also want to check out the Resources section for more information about tanka, kyoka, gogyoshi, sedoka, cherita, tanka prose, tanka sequences, and more.

Submissions are read year-round for Atlas Poetica. Complete guidelines are on the website.
