I will be going away for three weeks, not taking the (milk) kefir.
What shall I do with it? My husband stays at home and can possibly do
some low-key maintenance if necessary.
Thanks! Love, Annemieke.

put the grain in fresh milk and place it at the back of the fridge and it'll hold for several weeks without harm.

Have a safe trip.

YOu can dry them out too. Just lay them out on a paper towel for a
couple of days. Just keep rotating them so they dry evenly. After they
have dried you can put them in a jar with some powdered milk.

Just cover the grains with a bit of milk and stick them in your
fridge.. When you get back I'd dump the milk and start with fresh. The
grains may make bad kefir for a batch or two, but they will quickly
recover in my experience.

Have a nice holiday and don't worry about the grains!

Thank you - but do I screw the lid on tight, or leave itloose? Love A.
